TLDR - The food really does look beautiful but there is no flavor and it is way too overpriced to not even taste decent. (I’ve gone 2 times now. The first time I didn’t like it but returned about a year later because I hear so many positive reviews so I thought my 1st visit was just an off day. They have several notices that there are no refunds so I didn’t have the impression it was something we could work out with communication.) Both times no flavor and the tipping screen suggests wild amounts including up to 100% (“best service ever”). This is when you turn in your food order sheet and pay for what is on your sheet. Each percentage would have a little comment and the minimum suggested was 20% even though it isn’t that kind of establishment. It feels like a passive aggressive extortion fee but I leave something bc I don’t want x. Spit ifykyk in my order, but I realize it is a thing, so I’ll move on. Our stuff took a really long time which I literally don’t mind at all, but customers behind me were pistol packing and ruining the whole vibe in there. There were 4 at that table and 3 of them had guns very obviously had guns in the middle of the front of their pants. We listened to their trashy selves for like 40 minutes waiting on our food. I don’t blame the workers at all!! One girl in the group with her booty out was going off and honestly they were intimidating so of course they are remaking their stuff before doing ours they probably wanted to get them the f of there. It isn’t the workers fault. I feel like the owner should have been out there and done something instead of leaving $8hr employees dependent on tips to cater to the hoodlams. Anyway we finally got our food. My kid’s was edible so she ate it even though they clearly cook the tortilla with the lettuce so it is warm as the items meant to be cold and vise versa. They don’t know how to cook rice. Some were crunchy and it was dry. She left hungry. I thought I was tripping the first time I went here but my second time was worse. It’s so bad. Ok, so I got birria bc I see so many reviews about that and I want to support local business. The birria meat is the only thing good about this food in my experience. I got their birria burger and fries. The fries also had no flavor and were overcooked yet room temp, but whatever I put salt but my patty was raw. I had to wait a long time to ask for it to be remade (workers seem busy busy) but I got something else and it was ok ig, and was refunded the difference. I wanted to like this place so bad and that’s why we tried again but I’m so sorry it is bad. The decor is mostly nice too btw it looks cute. The presentation food is beautiful. It’s nuts bc everything looks so good. I thought the first time was a fluke bc all the raving reviews so we tried it again and it’s bland bland bland. The idea is good and presentation are very good, but the execution is only 30%. I wanted to love this place.

After a rousing, fun-filled visit to Uranus Fudge Factory, we asked one of the staff where we could find a good place for lunch. We specified no a chain restaurant, but somewhere local. Her immediate, first answer was BYOB. Full Stop. Build Your Own Burrito? I think this was the easier lunch decision we've ever made. "Waze, navigate me to BYOB". Less than a ten minute drive later and there we were. First thing's first: You can't miss this place. It's painted bright teal and definitely stands out from its surroundings. BYOB isn't a fancy, sit-down, full-service affair. It's a place with probably a dozen tables set about the area. What is 100% unique about BYOB is the ordering method. There's no menu board. There's no tri-fold menu on the table. At BYOB there are holders with 3 different colored pieces of paper. Each one of those has the menu for that particular food item (Tacos, Burritos, or Bowls). There are also golf pencils. You fill out your order on your yellow, pink, or green order slip and present it at the register. I think this is SERIOUSLY cool. We asked the gentleman at the counter what he would recommend (our first visit and all) and he said they're known for their Wet Tacos. Just about anything with the word "taco" is an easy sell for me, so my wife and I got that. No need to peruse the menu slips for this. If the person behind the counter says "It's what we're known for", that's enough for us. Maybe ten minutes later our Wet Tacos arrived...and Holy. Hell. They were awesome. They were amazing. They were incredible. They were unbelievable. (I'm running out of adjectives). They were magnificent. (ok, I'll stop there). But seriously. There's a lot of magic going on there. I've eaten a lot of tacos in my time and these just raised the bar.....HIGH. The staff we encountered (all both of them) were awesome and you could tell they enjoyed working at BYOB. They were also quick to clear tables after visitors left, making sure the place was kept clean. I'm pretty bummed that this place is so far away from home and that we can't visit on a whim (it's about 2½ from Louisville) so we'll have to settle with infrequent stops when traveling up I-69. Regardless, BYOB is a place I would, 100%, visit with amazing frequency if I was able. OH...and the restroom doors are cutely decorated.

I placed my order through DoorDash at 5:36. I got a Dasher within the next couple of minutes to order was supposed to be to me at 5:55 PM and I just received my order at 6:28. I tried to call the store to see how long the order was gonna be. They kept declining the call so I could not get through to anyone to speak to anyone. My Dasher was kind enough to let me know that he was still waiting, but I think that the store should do a little bit better with picking up their phone the only issue that I have with my order is the rice dish to my opinion this is not enough rice for this rice portion. I feel like there could be more on there for the amount that I paid. I ordered hot Cheetos on my meal and they are completely stale and soggy. The steak tacos now they’re actually really good. The only other issue I have they did not provide any napkins. Any utensils.

I consider myself a burrito connoisseur, so I don't make claims like this often nor without much thought, but BYOB is probably the best burrito I've had since living in Indiana. Ordering is super easy; check the boxes on a slip of paper for what style of wrap, meat, and additional ingredients you'd like. They spell everything out clearly and say how much extra any specific thing will cost. They forewarn you by claiming "this is not fast food" on the slips you fill out. They prep everything in-house and the wait can be about 5+ minutes on a busy night. But it's worth it. Halfway through my steak burrito I realized I wanted another one and got a brisket burrito (fantastic FYI). Great service and atmosphere; people are nice and they play music at all times, though it can be a tad loud in parts of the store. Wholeheartedly recommended this place, and hope they'll bring...
