I love the revamped version of The Toast. I’ve dined in a few times since they’ve reopened and have enjoyed what I ordered. This most recent visit I ordered the Benny (eggs Benedict dish). The eggs were overcooked and just a splash of the hollandaise sauce. After several minutes, I was finally able to flag down our server and she offered to have the dish remade. Approximately 10 minutes later, after my guests had finished their meals, I was served the Benny again. This time the manager followed and waited for me to cut into the eggs. I don’t know how they managed to overcook the eggs even more than the first attempt, but it happened. The manager apologized and took the dish off our bill. I will still continue to support this restaurant because overall I believe in their concept and our little town needs more independent businesses. I just hope they can master eggs Benedict and perhaps serve with a bit more sauce or just remove it from the menu if they can’t prepare it properly.

I grew up in Anderson and moved upstate to get t married, when I heard they reopened, I drove an hour and a half for my 40 birthday because all I wanted was the toast! It didn't fail to meet my high expectations. Super friendly staff, amazing food and just tons and tons if memories there! I drink out of my mug I purchased there all the time. Made me cry, I'm extremely thankful and grateful it reopened! It truly is a remarkable restaurant with remarkable people. I cannot say enough nice things to say about this place! The memories, the staff, the food and the atmosphere is second to none! Thank you for being such top notch people!

I had a work trip and wanted breakfast before heading out. I found this place on google, and decided to try it. When we got there it was packed! We had to wait an extra 45 minutes for our food and I didn’t mind at all I didnt realize it’s a new restaurant. They were out of some of the things we ordered and comped our check which they didn’t have to do. But guys THE FOOD IS AMAZING. Everything is homemade. I cannot talk more highly of this place! Loved our server. Loved the food. I have to come back up frequently for work and can’t wait to come back here.

Terrible service! First time ever stepping foot in this place! Never ordered and won’t try again! Service is beyond appalling! There were several folks there at breakfast. The hostess said it would be about a 10 minute wait because the kitchen was behind. She cleaned and set all of the tables. There were several tables cleaned. There were 3 older ladies ahead of us that had been waiting longer than my wife and I. My wife has leg problems and can’t stand for long periods of time! I finally asked the hostess if she could at least seat the ladies for their wait. She blew up on me telling me how she said it’d be a 10 minute wait. Why couldn’t we wait sitting for instead of being a fire hazard in front of the door. The hostess was extremely rude and disrespectful chasing us out the door yelling at us! As a tid bit of information, my wife and I frequent and rate restaurants on or page Foodies of Central Indiana. I’m certain that since we were basically ran off, we will not only give you a bad review here but also on our food blog page. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Since posting of my review owner Gary Sallee has been trying to bully and harass me on Facebook to change my review. 25% bad reviews before my review! Does he harass everyone that gives him...

My husband and I have been trying to get in to The Toast for a couple weeks now. Our schedules never aligned with their slower periods. But today we got in!

After a brief wait to be seated, Neecie, our hostess, got us sat and set up with waters and menus until our server came. We watched as Neecie quickly worked to clear tables and greet everyone who came in. She was organized and on it!

Our server, Jahla, came to take our orders. She was super sweet and attentive. Where we were sat, we were able to watch the cooktop and how everyone worked together. The professionalism and flow of this entire team just added to the already relaxing atmosphere of the restaurant. I remember the previous version of The Toast with dirty carpets and people yelling at each other. This version is welcoming, pleasant, and clean!

When our food arrived, it was fresh and delicious. (Fresh food takes a little longer to cook than the previous canned versions served before. However, the wait was still minimal) The onion rings are perhaps our new favorite of any restaurant. The portions are more than filling, and the prices align with every other restaurant in the current economy. This is a refreshing addition (re-addition?)...

We had a great first visit at the newly opened Toast Cafe. They were busy but the staff was working hard and regularly communicating to get people seated and fed as quickly as possible. The food was good and prices were reasonable; one surprising stand-out was the grits, which were some of the best I have ever tasted. The decor was nice in a “diner but modern and cool” way. The staff were all friendly even though they were clearly working very hard. If they stay busy like this they likely need to figure out a way to add a waiting area/vestibule both so people have a place to sit and to keep the place from freezing every time the door opens. One minor thing; my biscuit sandwich was great but my last bite had a clump of unmixed baking powder. My wife pointed out that this is a good sign of fresh made ingredients but it was an unfortunate final taste to get. The cinnamon roll we shared was outstanding; it was one of the better ones I have ever had. We will definitely be back to the Toast Cafe. It was a good experience and I expect it will only get better as they polish...
