My Husband, daughter & I decided to eat a late brunch @ Eggs Up Grill. We needed a break from eating at Ihop! I'm so glad we did! Everyone enjoyed their breakfast meals. We received Great Customer Service! We were greeted at the Hostess station & then we were shown to our table. Our server's name was Sarah! She was great! She knew the menu! Which was helpful. (It was our 2nd time dining in & my husband first time visiting. But its been a few years. We live in the county across town out of the city limits. We didn't mind the drive over to enjoy a 🔥 breakfast/brunch! Let me tell you, the food was fabulous! I ordered The Classic Breakfast ($9.49), My Husband ordered The Texas Farmhouse Omlete with home fries ($15.29) and a side of blueberry pancakes 🥞 (1.50 & $1.99) & our daughter ordered The Loaded Homefry Bowl ($11.99) with a side Waffle w/ ChocolateChips ($5.99 & $1.50). We love their home fries! Who doesn't! Their menu was filled with a lot of different options to choose from (Front/back). It was hard for me to choose. So, I decided to go with the original classic breakfast. Next visit, I will try something different. Everything is cooked to order. We didn't have to wait long I was impressed with The family atmosphere & all of the smiling faces as well as their kindness! Menu prices were reasonable as well as our check. We did leave our server a great tip! We received Great quality service and she earned it. The dining room area was very clean & well organized. As we were eating, It took me back to my childhood memories when I would have breakfast with my grandparents every morning. We all sat together at the kitchen table in the countryside before cellphones. We would take turns telling each other our plans for the day or for the week. I'm thankful to have those memories to look back on.. (I'm from Townville/Fairplay area.) So, a special thank you to the owners of Eggs Up Grill for taking me back to my childhood memories & coming to Anderson County. It was an great pleasure. I also signed up for their rewards program. We will definitely return. We do hope maybe one day in the near future we could have more than one Eggs 🥚 Up Grill location across Anderson on our side of town but until then we will still drive across town to dine in for some Southern Style home...
Read moreSo, I normally go downtown when I'm visiting Anderson, but today I thought I'd see if I could find somewhere that has a better menu than what I normally see in the South. Eggs Up had a Crab Benedict and a Carne Asada Breakfast Burrito, which is not a usual offering, so I went. I asked the waitress which she would eat and she said the Benedict. I should have gotten the burrito.
It seems that when a place does really well, which by the reviews it seems they are busy, they forget to take pride in what they serve. The food items made it to the plate, but there was no pride in it. The eggs were not silky as poached eggs should be, and the crab cakes... well, let's just say no pride. Grits were nothing special. Oddly, the Eggs Benedict came on a piece of chewy toast, and not an English Muffin. If you're trying something different, make it special. The toast was nothing special.
Anyway, this is my second try, and will try one more time. Next time I'm going to get the breakfast burrito, but, as I am from New Mexico, where the breakfast burrito was, arguably invented, I'm hoping it is...
Read moreThe first time I ordered I explained I wanted an egg white omelet with spinach and tomato. They didn't put any spinach in it. When I called they just said okay and hung up. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried them again but this time I called and reminded them about the spinach because it was off last time and they laughed. When I picked it up they rudely laughed and said your spinach in there. However, other components were missing this time. The next and last time I tried them, I ordered strawberry cheesecake pancakes. When I got the order the pancakes had no strawberries. They still charged me for the full price and when I brought it up she just kept saying we have no strawberries. I continued to say I was charged for strawberries and would have gotten plain pancakes if I had known. She said we can not update the website but we are out of strawberries and can't do nothing. I understand orders will be messed up sometimes which is why I gave more than one chance. However, horrible customer service is where I...
