Wing On Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Anderson

Wing On It has been a while since I did a Google review, mainly because it is so difficult to find a place to eat that has really great tasting food, and friendly service, and nice portion sizes.  Add to that I grew up around Chicago, moved away years ago, and haven't found many good Chinese restaurants to speak of in our extensive traveling around the USA. Okay, we have tried every Chinese restaurant around Fishers Indiana, and the northern half of Indy with dismal results at best. Then after a nice conversation with a tow-truck driver, today I drove all the way to Anderson, IN and ordered all of our family's favorite dishes at Wing On. OMG.  Finally after a 3 year+ hiatus... Bam- a home run!!! Results: Chicken Egg Foo Young- delicious!  Perfectly cooked, the meat cooked INSIDE, and a delicious brown gravy.  A must-try! Lo-Mein: noodles, chicken, vegetables all Perfectly done in a melody of tastes. Chicken fried rice: I don't know why Chinese restaurants around here think the rice should be bright yellow and tasteless, but Thank You, Wing On, for doing it correctly and, literally,  tastefully! Won-Ton soup: again excellent,  left you wanting more even after being stuffed! Egg Rolls:  they got it right!!! Big, fried to perfection, delicious.  Almost a meal in itself! So, that is my long-winded, 'round-about way to say Thank You for being our new go-to for Chinese food in the area!  I will gladly drive 30 minutes, great job doing Chinese...

This is a horrible place to go as an occasional delivery driver. Today was the last straw for picking up a customer's DoorDash order.

The order was ready for pick up, which is rare here so who knows how long it sat there or how many Dashers declined to take it before I did.

The rather rude guy wanted me to verify on my app that everything the customer ordered was actually in the bag without showing me what was in the tied bag. When I told him that I had to click on "I cannot verify, bags are sealed" (per delivery policy) he told me he would not let me deliver the order. NOR would he show me that the items were actually in the bag. All of this, in a rude manner pointing at my phone to blindly check every box. Sorry Mario (the customer), I had my hot bag ready for pickup, and would have been wheels up if he would have given me your order. PS before you order online from here again, just walk in the place and check it out for yourself. I would never personally order from here whether I ever delivered...

The wing on in Anderson is one of my favorite places to eat all time. The same lovely lady has been greeting me upon my arrival for more than 20 years. I always get the house fried rice for me and no matter what size I order it seems like they give me 20 lb a food. And while I know that it is an exaggeration, it has always been more than enough to fill me up. Maybe one time I didn't have enough left over for a whole second meal. My children love the sweet and sour chicken, and they can be picky. And while my wife can be just as picky as the children, I have never brought her a meal from wing on that she didn't love. And when she isn't feeling good the egg drop soup from wing on is the only thing she'll eat. Since the covid-19 crisis I haven't been able to eat at the restaurant, but I have been able to order ahead, picking up hot and fresh , and taking it...
