---Edit 2/11/24--- I've come here twice since my initial review and have some revised thoughts. The ladies that were the wait staff when I first came were very attentive and quick. The last 2 times there's been this guy there that seems to love to talk to guests. So much so that he takes a long time to take orders and also forgets to bring coffee. I guess that's cool for regulars but when there's only 2 other guests in the cafe, it's not great when you're served slowly. Guy was also cleaning (dusting) and touching everything and using those same hands to touch our utensils and food. Also licked his fingers to separate the menus and hand them to us (have we learned nothing during covid?). Not a fan.

Food was still good, definitely no complaints there. Got the French toast and eggs benedict. The coffee isn't quite as good as when I first came here. Not sure if it's a different flavor or roast but it's a bit off.

Came in around lunch time on Saturday and was able to get a seat immediately. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Restaunt is clean and the decor is vintage.

Ordered the eggs benedict and the blueberry orange ricotta pancakes. They ran out of the Canadian bacon for the eggs benedict so I opted for the homemade ham and it was delicious. The eggs are a bit runnier than I'm used to but wasn't a big deal since everything else was delicious. The hollandaise sauce was perfect on top and loved the crispy potato side. Both seasoned perfectly.

The pancakes are on the smaller side compared to some breakfast places but it tastes darn good. The blueberries were fresh and the orange ricotta gave it a bright sweetness.

Their coffee is also top notch and the large parking lot outside makes coming...

We like to try support local businesses, and the newly opened Lake House Café was only a very short drive from our home, so this past Sunday (3/19/23) my wife and I decided to stop in here for breakfast. Nestled just a short walk from Andover’s antique shops, the Café is situated in the downstairs of a historic building, with original hand-laid stonework, restored hardwood floors and original stone fireplace; it’s a nice change from the typical commercial diner type of establishment. Upon entering, we were greeted by the owner and seated near the fireplace. While not overly large, there’s plenty of well-spaced seating for at least 20 patrons and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The coffee was hot and fresh with a choice of cream or milk. Breakfast menu items include such varied items as French Toast, Avocado Croissant, Omelets, Eggs Benedict, and Egg Sandwich among others along with daily specials. There’s also a lunch menu with various salads, burgers and sandwiches – the café is not open for dinner. My wife selected the special breakfast burrito stuffed with peppers, onions, eggs, and black beans while I tried the traditional egg sandwich with bacon on a hard roll. Both were perfectly prepared, hot and tasty; each was served with a small fruit bowl. The café is nice little jewel of an establishment and we plan on...

0/5!! HORRIBLE PLACE! Would never go back. If you’re a person of color, you’re instantly targeted at this place. My cousin and I both went to grab breakfast at this place seeing the reviews were great and on our way to our destination. We were not approached as we stepped in by the man ( didn’t catch his name) but I guess the waiter/ manager of this place. We went up to him and asked him for a table, he placed us by the door where there were 3 other tables by us. As people (light skinned people) arrived to this place for breakfast, this man greeted them, and placed all of them in tables on the other side, far away from us. Literally creating a division from the side of the door, and my cousin and I were isolated on one side. To the point where he could no longer sit anymore people on the other side. My cousin and I were in disbelief that in the 21st century some form of division and seclusion exists just because we looked different than all the other customers at this cafe. That man needs to open his eyes and I hope some day he realizes the big injustice he made. If I could give this place a 0 I would. Like I said be aware of this place, terrible customer service. Seem to be stuck in the past. Would not go...

My friend said if they do away with the barista/host/waiter, she's never going back! Lol he was so friendly and inviting. My first visit here. Only qualms were that my pancakes were missing the berry compote (easy mistake that didn't affect the quality of the food) and there aren't many hot tea options if you're not into coffee. They have plenty of canned drinks and even homemade iced tea and lemonade to make up for it though. Overall, I can't get this place out of my head and have been CRAVING to go back!!! A plethora of parking and indoor/outdoor seating options. The building was built in the 1700s as a metal forge and I'm glad to see that they are keeping this place alive and working with the decor. The other stores in the building, e.g. a salon, discount variety store, a GYM, and the post office, have all covered up the inside of this place. You'd think it was a modern building from the inside. The cafe has kept the old walls visible and has mismatched farm style furniture to keep history alive. They even have a poster/plaque inside describing the building's history.

If I could rate this place a 10/10 stars I would. My family and I took my brother here for his birthday and when I tell you they make you feel like home, I mean it. They treated us like family and gave us the best service ever! Terry was outstanding and the main cook (I forgot her name but she will not be unrecognized) was such a sweetheart. You can tell that the food was made with love and every bite of it was DELICIOUS. I ordered the veggie panini and added grilled chicken with a side pasta salad and it hit the spot! They also sang to my brother and brought out this delicious almond cookie with a candle! I am recommending this place to everyone and I will now be one of their new regulars!!
