We stopped in on a Friday evening to try the oven fired pizza. This was our first visit and when we walked in we weren’t sure what to do. Nobody said a word to us. We figured out that you’re supposed to go to the counter and order. I recommend greeting people as they come in the door with something like, “Welcome! You can place your order at the counter when you’re ready.” A couple came in after us and sat down. They too were confused about what to do. Nobody said a word to them either. They too eventually figured out it’s an “order at the counter” establishment. They offer one size pizza, 13 inch. We didn’t think we could eat a pizza that size but ordered the Four Horsemen. The pizza was fantastic! We ate the whole thing. The crust is thin and the pizza was perfectly cooked. We appreciated the low volume of the music in the restaurant. It’s the perfect volume for background music. You can hear it but you can also talk over it in a conversational tone. I gave 3 stars because there’s room for improvement on the customer service side. We found the stories about the grumpy woman at the counter to be true. Now that we know you’re supposed to order at the counter we may have a better experience next time. We will definitely go back for pizza, it’s been a long time since I’ve had a...
Read moreI truly hate to complain about Sutton's Deli because I usually have amazing experiences when I'm by myself. The food is phenomenal and the service is generally great as well. But this time I ordered 3 cups of soup (3.50 each) and one sandwich cut into 3 pieces (7.99 for one reuben), and they charged me $30. When I questioned the older lady ringing me up she was very short with me and said 3 sandwiches. I said "no, one sandwich cut into 3." And she voided it and range it up again at $24 and some change...i said "how is it so much?" She said they are charging me an extra 3 dollars for having them cut it into three pieces instead of two because they're giving us 3 bags of chips. I said "I don't need the chips though." And she said "it comes with the sandwich." I said "not if I'm paying $1 for each bag." And she then rolled her eyes at me and asked the person next to me what they'd like to order. I was literally baffled by the situation. Then I got the food and they only gave us 2 bags of chips. I did not waste my time telling them. I was ready to leave. But I think they need to be aware that this is not ok. I didnt ask for the chips. I asked for ONE sandwich cut into 3. If the food wasn't amazing then this would be a deal breaker for me. Im really disappointed in the service...
Read moreThe food is great! The 4 stars are for the service, and the poorly laid out way to get to the counter. There is no clear instructions as to whether you sit down and somebody will come to you to take your order or if you need to go to the counter to order, which in itself is confusing since everybody is basically just trying to figure out where to go (I was asked by a couple, and a gentleman who were also first time customers, where to go) while servers crossed through the crowd in front of the register (again poorly laid out) with stacks of sandwich baskets. I called in a carry out order, waited 10 minutes in my car (he said 15 minutes for it to be ready), then went on in to get in line (they were busy) and waited almost 10 minutes until the older woman came to the counter to help the one person in front of me who had half his food already but there was missing items he was waiting on. Some of this is in him, he could have slid to the side to allow the line to keep going while he waited, but you'd assume that since this place seems well established and they might know to ask him to step aside to let the next person up go and keep things moving and food fresh. Not big complaints, I'll go again, but I'll...
