Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Ankeny

Ordered a sandwich online for cash payment when I picked it up. I chose a pickup time 30 minutes from ordering time. I got a quick response indicating that wasn't enough time and I needed to select a later time. I chose a later time and went to get the sandwich. When I arrived, I was told the sandwich was ready. I said I had to pay and then they discovered the sandwich wasn't mine. They didn't get my order. They asked me to look at my phone for confirmation. It was confirmed at another location. An employee told me that happens all the time, a sandwich is ordered at one store but the order gets sent to another location. I was told the app has lots of problems and this happens all the time. The counter help person proceeded to tell me how to get to the other location that supposedly had my sandwich (maybe 2 miles). No offer to make me a sandwich or call and cancel the order there (I was about 20 minutes early so possibly the sandwich hadn't yet been made). So I drove to the other location. Now I am about 15 minutes past the pickup time. The door is locked. An employee came right away and opened the door and asked if I ordered a sandwich. I said I did and I had to pay for it. They volunteered that the door was shut because they ran out of bread. I asked about the sandwich location mixup and they said usually they just get called to cancel the order and the location makes the sandwich for the customer, but that did not happen for me tonight. I could see that being different if I paid online, but this was a cash sale. Two Jimmy John's in one night for me where the experience was less...

I love this jimmy johns i just ordered food dead cold outside me and the delivery driver had a awesome conversation great guy i will always order from this store i feel bad for them yet they throw smile on there face while freezing. I truthly appreciate all the work they do and careing for the customers truthfully i had wait abit you know what i dont care about that he was friendly understand Apologized i couldnt ask for anything more even if they offered anything i would say no they never gave me any kinda at all im a Regular with them every week twice a a week on my days off best Jimmy johns in ankeny i wont order from any other store but these guy yall...

We have ordered to work a couple times now and both times it has taken over an hour to receive the order. Currently at 1.5 hours and counting on the current order. We called after an hour and were told that the driver left the store 20 minutes prior to my call and should be there any minute. If the store is busy guests should be told instead of waiting hours for orders. After reading other reviews it seems like this is a reoccurring problem that needs addressed.
