Our first time here, and the food was good. Had planned to come back and try some other dishes at a later date.
But it's not worth the nickle & diming.
They charge $2 if you ask for pickles on your burger or sandwich.
When we went to sign the receipt, the charge was higher then it should have been. When we asked, the guy said "that's for the surcharge".
"What surcharge?"
"What do you mean what surcharge?"
And that's when we learned they charge a 3.999% fee for cards. It would've been nice if they mentioned it when we handed over the card, maybe say something like "So we charge a 3.999% surcharge on running cards, are you sure you want to use this?" Then we maybe would've said "Oh wow, we had no idea. Let's all pool our cash together" or maybe we would've said "Oh ok, that's fine. Thanks for telling us!"
But they didn't do that, so we asked for clarification on the discrepancy.
The guy said "Can't you read? There's a sticker right there!"
Then he moved a basket they had on the counter that was covering this sticker the entire time.
I said "How can we read something you're hiding under a basket?"
Then he said "It's on our front door, which you can see when you get outta here!" The photo of their front door is attached. The sign announcing the surcharge is partially blocked by the sign with their hours.
At no point did we raise our voice, I just asked "Excuse me, why is the receipt higher than the amount I was verbally told?" and he flipped out on us.
We left a 25% cash tip on the table. I hope our waitress gets it and the guy at the...
Read moreHorrible EXPENSIVE food. For 2 adults and 2 toddlers our bill was over $50. Servers were very nice.
I got the breakfast burrito for over $11 which was maybe 3 eggs with shredded half cooked potato on a cheap white tortilla, with a pinch of cheese crusted on top (salsa and sour cream on the side). Not a crumb of seasoning to be seen anywhere in the vicinity of the burrito. You'd think for $11+ I'd have a little avocado, onion, maybe some bell pepper, cheese INSIDE, or at least a single granule of salt, but no.
The 2nd meal was the "Hearty Breakfast". $13+, one of the more pricey meals, included 2 strips of floppy bacon, 2 overcooked eggs, a paper thin slice of ham, 2 cheap hotel quality sausage links, and 2 small pancakes that looked like something served up at a child's summer camp.
The children's meals were over $7 each and that got each ONE slice of bread (they called it French toast), and 2 slices of the aforementioned floppy bacon. That's it.
This is boomer-tier food completely devoid of even the thought of seasoning and flavor. Spend your $50 literally anywhere else. A pack of bacon, a dozen eggs, and krusteaz pancake mix would set you back less than $20. Even a generic coney island puts more thought into their food. We...
Read moreFirst tried the breakfast, it was mediocre at best. Decided to give it another chance on the burgers on 11/5/2021. Picked up and waited to be greeted. A young girl working passed by looking at me. I said "Hi" but she just continued to look at me and say nothing. Once I said something else one of the other two women at the front that had their backs to me the whole time came around to cash me out. She was rude, short and telling another woman what to do because she didn't seem to know what was going on. Fries were lukewarm and tasted like shrimp (probably cooked in the same oil), cocktail sauce was gross, burger buns were soggy and the burgers had stuff we didn't want and missing what we did want which we explicitly told the man who took our order on the phone. Less than 10 minutes after eating, my boyfriend became physically ill and had an allergic reaction to the food that lasted all night. I also had a reaction as my face became red and swollen and rashes appeared on my chest and arms after eating. What is going on at this restaurant? I advise to go elsewhere for breakfast and burgers as there are several other places in Ann Arbor that are...
