I wish I could give 17 stars to this business, and most specifically for Travis over at Procam in Ann Arbor. Simply. The. Best.

I had been going to Procam in Livonia over the last decade for rentals and loved its hole in the wall vibe, and was always graciously taken care of. Well- when procam in Ann Arbor opened I was very excited because it’s much closer to me. I expected the same quaint set up- but boy was I surprised when I walked in. That little side-of-the-building door opened up into an EXPANSIVE photographers candy shop. Everything you could imagine. Clean. Organized. Every product you could think of as a professional shooter. Amazing used selection. No notes. Just paradise.

Now it’s one thing to have a fancy shop, but goodness does Procam GET customer service. Some places you get ignored and need to hound people for help. Some places you walk in and staff is on top of you trying to sell you every and anything. I hate either situation. Well I came in a few weeks ago and had the blessing of connecting with Travis right away. This man needs a promotion, a raise, a plaque, all of the above preferably.

I came in shopping for a zoom lens and Travis was on it. He knew everything about everything. We were comparing. We were shooting. We were looking at options. We were conversing about what I shoot so we could find the best fit. I dropped 2k on a lens, no buyers remorse in sight because Travis made sure I made a sound and educated decision with no guess work. He got me the best deal he could offer. Never felt pushed, never felt taken advantage of, never felt like he was just trying to make his sale. Just a smart down to earth guy giving me his honest feedback and advice.

Well- Travis took such good care of me, I was back today to shop a macro lens that I couldn’t stop thinking about. And guess who was the first face I saw when I walked in? My guy Travis! He was with another customer, recognized me immediately, and was able to split his time with his current customer and me with no neglect to either of us. He remembered everything we talked about a few weeks ago. He asked how my zoom was working. He remembered exactly what macro we had talked about before. I didn’t feel like another customer I felt like he was my dedicated gear specialist.

This is an important point- I was between a brand name Nikon lens and an off brand tamron. Now it ALWAYS feels like sales associates shove you towards the more expensive brand name. But not Travis. After doing testing and some quick research, he actually pointed me towards the Tamron. He encouraged me to save the money to put towards other gear, which I did! I walked out of there with a new bag and my new Tamron lens. He’s an honest, smart man and I trusted his opinion indefinitely. He again made sure I got the most bang for my buck. He stayed with me through the whole process and we had some banter and laughs along the way. I walked out of there with more money in my pocket than I planned, and the best feeling of quality customer care.

Now my only complaint… how do I stop spending money at this place?!? I just want to hang out with Travis, be surrounded by endless beautiful photo gear, and test it all out and day dream about shoot possibilities! Procam- you are doing it RIGHT. The right environment, the right stock, the right team. A+++++ across all areas.

Travis- thank you sir. For everything. For being honest, kind, informative, and no tricks. Just a man who’s good at his job and wants to help fellow photographers advance their gear. Hope you’re not sick of me because I will 100% be back and tracking you down.

Travis at ProCam is the real deal. Knowledgeable, friendly, kind and personable, he makes the experience of buying new gear effortless. He is an expert in his field and answers all of your questions with a wealth of knowledge all the while being respectful and genuine in doing so. Travis remembered the camera I was looking at and contacted me to let me know a rebate had become available. When I arrived at the store he greeted me by name and spent as much time with me as I needed. He is truly a gem in the world of customer service. Travis (and other staff) were superb. I was purchasing a camera as a graduation gift, and Travis helped me find the best option. Procam was recommended to me by a seasoned photographer and I’m so glad I went! This store clearly puts customers first, and has a huge range of options to offer whether you are a beginner or an expert (like the person who recommended the store). My questions were easily answered and the process was efficient. There isn’t anything I’d want to be different. There are lessons and workshops too, which is fantastic. Best of all, my graduate (who’d taken photography class) was so happy with what Travis helped pick out - it was perfect.
