Jagged Fork — Restaurant in Ann Arbor

THIS PLACE SUCKSDON'T GO....YOU'LL REGRET IT** We have been here a handful of times and are always hopeful that this restaurant, staff and food will somehow improve...it only gets worse! 😣

First off, if you don't know there is an automatic 18% gratuity added on your ticket with parties of two or more without telling you upfront. This means MOST of the wait staff DO NOT do a darn thing to truly earn that gratuity, they expect it! So they are inattentive, rude, slow and genuinely seem bothered and irritated to be doing any of their job duties... such loathsome and slothful behavior!!

Secondly, not sure if this young man is a manager, head waiter or shift lead but he's plain awful👿😩🤢. This past Saturday this younger, tall, thin, spikey, dark haired person parks not even legally at the gas station adjacent to the restaurant, he takes up three to four spaces(like he owns the joint), unloads some sort of groceries from the back of his dark SUV/4x4. Whilst unloading the bags, his personal trash falls out of his truck and he kicks it into the bushes...this is all in front of huge windows that diners sit by watching this disrespectful debacle(you guessed correctly, we were some of those lucky guests). He marches in and proceeds to leave his vehicle there while we were dining (about 2 hours). When the staff want you to leave and they're no longer making money from you. They will, what seems to intentionally spill a drink or start slamming your cups down when you ask for a refill. I personally had the same guy described above spill water on me and in my purse during a visit in an attempt to get us to leave. This time that same guy slammed our coffee cups down after refilling for coffee spilling coffee on our table and my friend. He obviously has no respect for laws(parking lot next door and littering) or the customers....if he lacks this type of integrity and respect for the customers and his place of employment imagine what he is potentially doing to/with your order!!! This attitude is palpable with the entire staff not just this guy.... although he's the winner for being the most disrespectful, despicable waiter I've ever encountered..such a poor representation for Jagged Fork...the owner could do much better hiring toddlers or even monkeys 👶🏻🍼 🐒

Please don't waste your time⏰ or hard earned money💲💲at this place!

HORRENDOUSLY UNETHICAL. They don't give paper bills, they have it on their tablet and when the waitress hands it to you to pay, she presses the button to skip beyond the details and only shows you the final amount, which includes an 18% gratuity. They try their best to hide it from you so you give them an extra tip but I saw just enough on the screen to see what was going on. This alone will keep me from ever going back.

I asked to talk to a manager (not to complain, but to offer encouragement on how to improve some of their dishes and raise prices too!) but he wouldn't come to my table. Went to two others but we waited 10 minutes and he even made eye contact with me but he wouldn't come over. That was really disappointing.

As for the food: It wasn't 'bad' but it wasn't great either. They use fake syrup, not real maple syrup. They use fake hollandaise sauce from a mix (tastes like gravy) not real hollandaise sauce made from egg yolks and clarified butter. The ham in the meat lovers skillet was a little on the salty side and didn't have great ham flavor. It was a low(er) quality meat. The potatoes were cooked well. Same for the over easy eggs. Honestly, I would have been willing to pay a few extra dollars to have real syrup, real hollandaise sauce and a quality ham like Neuske's applewood smoked ham.

The place looks nice on the inside, but the unethical wait staff, mediocre food and management that doesn't seem to care should be enough to put them out of business. Hopefully this review helps push them in that direction. Ann Arbor...

BEWARE: KITCHEN MAKES SUBSTITUTIONS WITHOUT INFORMING YOU AND INCLUDES INGREDIENTS NOT INCLUDED IN THE ITEMS MENU DESCRIPTION OR IN THE ORDERED OPTIONS.

I ordered a build-your-own option on the menu and found multiple ingredients I didn't order that were incompatible with my own dietary restrictions. The restaurant was out of some of the ingredients I selected and instead of calling me, asking me, or even telling me decided to just substitute what they had and hope I didn't notice. If you have allergies, dietary restrictions, or any limitations on what you can eat, AVOID this restaurant. The food is great and my servers have been nice in the past, but this was really inexcusable, especially since this happened with a "build-you-own" option where I specifically selected the ingredients I wanted. I've never had a restaurant not call or inform me when they were out of my selected item and then make such bold substitutions that were clearly incompatible with the order being placed. It's both lazy and irresponsible, and the primary reason for why I will not be returning again.

It's a shame because the food was actually quite good, despite the inexcusable conduct of the staff.

I will note, I have seen the restaurant closing early before their stated closing time when picking up orders on multiple occasions. At times, I've come to pick up an order and seen the staff putting chairs on tables and mopping the floor an hour before closing. If you're coming here towards the end of their hours, beware that the kitchen may be closed...
