This was a quaint and simple hotel. It was very clean, but just not a lot to offer especially for what you pay. The rooms were also small for what you pay and that was disappointing. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant inside was great but again overpriced for the portions that you get. The complimentary valet parking was nice, but no guy greeted us at the door like they told us, we had to go in. Also, the complimentary breakfast wasn't that good. For what you pay (I paid $270 for the king Parlor suite) the room was a bit small. It has a TV, a little bar counter with a sink and a small portable coffee maker. There was a small sofa and a chair and a table and a king sized bed, which was nice, but because of the limited space it felt cramped.
It has an old fashioned heater at the base of a wall, but it does have a thermostat. The problem was that the room was a little chilly probably because even with the closed window cold air was getting through, so we turned it up. When we turned it up to 77 from 73. It got a little warmer but then the heater was making such a horrendous noise that we turned it back down. The bathroom was nice and had a nice rain-like shower head and a pointless but interesting TV screen built into the mirror (o.O) but the water did not get super hot. And I like my showers hot.
Also there wasn't much to offer besides a simple, small lobby area with a fireplace and the restaurant. There was no pool, no jacuzzi, not much else. If the rooms were a lot larger and had a fireplace with a nice big cozy couch to cuddle on in front of, and were just more elegant, it wouldn't have been a problem, but the rooms were small for what you paid for and just didn't feel like a grand escape. If you're looking for something simple for one night, this might be the place for you because it was fine, but if you're looking for a great escape or something more elegant that has more to offer, this probably isn't for you. I was hoping for more because it was Valentine's Day weekend, but it...
Read moreMy experience at the Bell Tower Hotel was deeply disappointing due to both subpar accommodations and poor customer service. ||The property, while seemingly charming online and in a prime location, fell far short of my expectations. My room was small, outdated, and poorly maintained. It faced a noisy alley, and the 5:30 AM commotion of garbage trucks loudly disrupted my rest. The bathroom lacked adequate lighting, the shower had low water pressure, and the hotel provided cheap amenities. The room looked nothing like the online photos. ||The customer service was equally unsatisfactory. Despite a confirmed corporate booking with a noon check-out, I was repeatedly pressured by the staff to vacate earlier, disrupting my work schedule. Housekeeping barged into my room twice on the morning of my check-out and the front desk manager informed me they will not honor the confirmed late check-out despite sharing a written confirmation of a late check-out. I felt unwelcome throughout the interaction and exited my room 30 minutes early due to the pressure I felt by the staff. To make matters worse, the reservations manager responded dismissively, sending me an email after I checked out implying the misunderstanding was my fault. ||This lack of professionalism and hospitality is unacceptable. With so many better options in Ann Arbor, I would not recommend the Bell Tower Hotel to anyone seeking quality accommodations or service. For service you can trust, stay at The Graduate or consider one of the many corporate...
Read moreI was very disappointed with this hotel. First off, don’t let the pictures on their website fool you. It looks very nice and over the top. Don’t get me wrong, the place is nice but very old and all the rooms are small. Very small. The customer service is horrible. I Needed a room while my daughter was getting surgery at u of m. I came across this nice looking hotel that was right down the road and reserved my room online...after a long day at the hospital I only wanted to come to a safe place and shower and sleep. I got to my tiny room and after unpacking my bags I herd a loud knock on the door from the front desk lady demanding I open the door because she smelled smoke. I paid $200 to be accused of something I did not do. I left the hotel because I felt attacked and judged. I went to the front desk to tell them how uncomfortable I felt and asked for my money back which I was then declined. I had to find another place to stay and my money was never returned even tho I did not use their room. They do not care about their customers and their facility is creepy. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Go elsewhere. Do not waste your money because they are out...
