Ben Gong's Tea — Restaurant in Annandale

Wish I could give this place a full 5 stars as it's actually one of my favorites. I really like their tea, I can taste it is much higher quality than the powdered milk teas other places use. They also mostly follow your custom order instructions such as ice and sugar levels which is always appreciated as other places can often just overlook or ignore these things (which are important as it literally changes the way your drink tastes..) Speed of service is usually pretty decent too unless someone else happened to take your drinks (which is another story). Only reason I had to take off a star is because as other people have mentioned, the service from the workers could definitely be improved. Several times there was a young female Asian worker who would pretty much act as if she didn't want to be spoken to and when you thanked her she would just walk away. It's not very good service (or even manners) to act so apathetic towards customers or ignore them when they talk to you or ask...

I just can’t stop talking about this place, literally recommended to all my friends! Our weekend chores are now being planned around it (we live 25min away), we often ask the question to plan the weekend: “how can we go do this and get Ben Gong?”

We’ve been to the location in Centerville and we do not want to go back again, same name but very different vibes (even drinks!)

Everyone at Annandale location is so friendly, they love to crack some jokes (especially the owner himself lmao🤣) and give great recommendations for drinks.

They are also the very first business on Google I know to have an actually working “chat” feature. I was able to get in touch with the shop after one of my orders went wrong, and they solved it in a very timely manner which I really appreciate. They are so friendly that I want to be friends with all of them😆

Stop searching for another boba place, this one is the best! And if you live far away from it like us, the drive...

This is a VERY VERY VERY dishonest and underhanded establishment.

Their payment system is set up to con you into paying a tip by omitting the ‘no tip’ option on their payment platform. You have to play around with the payment options to realize that you can enter $0.00 for tip.

They will also tack on a restaurant/service fee (can’t remember the exact wording) along with the tip they attempt to con from you. You won’t even realize this fee was tacked on until AFTER you pay.

They will also refuse to give you a paper receipt ( which I prefer to avoid giving out my contact info) in an attempt to prevent you from reviewing the charges.

The quality of their drinks is secondary to the level of deception practiced by the owner of this establishment.

There are plenty of places to get bubble tea and certainly don’t need to...
