I am very disappointed, as this could have easily been one my favorite restaurants in NOVA. I came as a party of two and was seated pretty quickly. Afterwards, it took around 10-20 minutes before a waiter ever came to take our order. And when they did, for some reason only half of our order was sent to the kitchen. Never received an explanation as to why. After inquiring about it, we were just asked if I still wanted the missing food. Since only 1 of us received our food, we said yeah and waited assuming it was just an honest mistake.
About 20-30 minutes later, we flagged down the waiter asking about the status of the meal. Once again they asked if we still wanted it.. I also noticed tables would be seated and receive their food without issue fairly quickly. I tried to be respectful as possible but eventually just asked to pay for what received and grab this missing food to go. It took around 20 minutes to receive the bill, and the food we ordered was still missing, and after asking about the missing meal we were once again asked if we still wanted it.
I am not sure why you even bothered to seat us if you didn't want to serve us. I'm hoping it was just a royal mess up on the service department or perhaps the communication to the kitchen and not because of discrimination. It seemed like we were the only people there facing any issues. If you weren't intending to serve us properly, I would rather you just be honest from the start so that neither of us have to waste our time. It's a real shame too, because I really did enjoy the food I did get, and wanted to return to this place frequently, but after this experience I'm not sure if I was ever welcomed here in the first place. If you read this entire review and still decide to eat here, I highly recommend the signature spicy ribs, they were really good but not treated as second-class...
Read moreFirst time here.. ordered two of chicken rice bowls and their pulled chicken sandwich, 5pc chicken tenders, and fries for carry out..
All the pulled chicken is from rotisserie chicken..
The Pulled chicken sandwich was good, heapimg rotisserie pulled chicken and cole slaw packed on.
The rice bowels were also quite good. They came with some salad on the side, the rice was sticky. It's was a surprisingly clean very healthy meal had it not been for the bit of spicy mayo sauce drizzled over it which I'm sure you ask to 86 or have in a little container on the side.. I would also say they didn't give enough pulled chicken for the amount of rice, so that's one reason that took two stars off.
The chicken tenders were the stars of this order! 5 HUGE perfectly deep fried tenders. They were super crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. Great!
The fries at first glance looked great! Shoestring fries are my favorite but these were super dry, made feel like they were stale.. to me it's fried potato strips you can't blow it... it's easy and ubiquitous and if screw up fries your cooking talent must be questioned so this is the second biggest reason for the food downgrade to 3 stars along with inadequate chicken on the rice in the bowls.
Service was great, smiling very polite and welcoming help. They did a great job of answering my questions.
The place is well designed and decorated, not a big crowd on a Sunday night. But a nice bar and well situated array of TVs a great simple place to catch a game beers, soju and eats!
Overall four stars and could get to 5 in my book of they add more pulled chicken on the rice bowls and totally up...
Read moreMy husband and I have been waiting for Omy Chiq and Bar to open. We used to visit the burger place that was there before and were sad to see it close during the pandemic. We were not disappointed with Omy that is for sure. We were informed they are under a soft opening right now; so not all of the menu items were available, but the staff were very helpful in guiding us through what was available and asking what flavors and types of dishes we prefer. We started off with beer, wine and dumplings. They have a full bar with specialty cocktails as well. We then ordered the wood fire mala chicken and yakisoba to share. Everything was cooked to our liking and the flavors were awesome. We left stuffed and plan to return after the New Year when they have their full menu available. You also should stop and watch their wood fire grill...it is pretty cool. The staff was kind and checked on us often to make sure we had everything we needed. Thank you for a great experience and welcome to the neighborhood!! :-) Update 1/2/2023: My husband and I came back for a later dinner after the New Year. They had a few more items available on their menu, but are still under soft opening. We tried chamisul fresh soju, rice wine, steamed shrimp dumplings, Buffalo chicken egg rolls, grilled corn cheese, and spicy back pork ribs. The highlight of the evening was discovering a Japanese whiskey we actually enjoyed, Kujira. It tastes more similar to American bourbon than any other Japanese whiskey I have ever tried. I highly recommend it. The dumplings and pork ribs were really tender and delicious. The staff was great once again. Thanks for...
