I wrote this review because I know how important it is to edify people who are genuine and who are good at what they do.
Tonight we had our first dinner at Silverado, but I've been to nearly all the other Great American Restaurants. So, we came to search for our favorite one.
The interior is unique to each location. Silverado has a western cowboy & navajo aesthetic.
The food is high quality and a standard for all Great American Restaurants.
The menus are similar but, each restaurant offers a little something different too. It's always a delight to savor GAR's famous Ozzie Rolls.
Upon arrival We were quickly seated by a host who put us in a cozy and spacious booth towards the back. Extra points for seating us somewhere warm, I tend to feel cold wherever I go.
Our server for the night is Iris. She has a pleasant smile and is wonderful to interact with. I struggle being in public now a days so, this means a lot to me.
Iris immediately went over tonight's specials. I cut her off when she mentioned the Ahi Tuna because, I knew it was amazing when I had it at Mike's lol. To be fair she was already done sharing the specials. ☺
You know I ordered the Ahi Tuna but That didn't quite hit the ball out of the park. It was good but, way off from what I've tasted at Mike's, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I politely mentioned the noticeable difference.
Everything else that we ordered was served to our liking.
When we got the check, Iris humbly mentioned that the appetizer was removed from the tab.
I didn't expect that so, I asked her why and she mentioned that I did not appear to be very satisfied with the Ahi Tuna compared to the reaction that I gave her when she initially mentioned it.
This is important to me because it shows that she truly cares about the customer's experience.
It's a popular appetizer. We ordered it every time it was available at Mike's, because it's a seasonal appetizer.
There were times when I showed up just for the Ahi Tuna and they ran out of it before the end of the night.
If you're wondering why The flavor profile was very imbalanced. Too much ponzu. I believe they will have it corrected very soon.
If you lean more towards a salty snack, then you might enjoy it. It's just too much for our tastebuds.
Anyway, it's not a deal breaker. This place is spot on with their offerings. You can tell because they still had a full house after 8PM with other guests coming in well after us.
Unless you burn the food or really screw up, I don't expect to get comped. I just won't order that again or won't come back.
If I like the place, then I'll give them a second chance by sharing my grievances in hopes that they can improve and better serve others.
Conclusion We enjoyed it here. Parking was easy. Service was prompt and quicker than we expected. None of the employees appeared to be disgruntled or stressed, that's always a good sign. We enjoyed our meals here.
We will probably come back for lunch and cocktails.
Thanks for the great service Iris...
Read moreWe went in this evening and had the worst dining experience since covid started. One server introduced herself and disappeared before we could even order drinks. Then another server in training introduced himself and his trainer, gave us the specials, and took our drink order. He then brought out the wrong drinks. The first serve came back and said she was taking us back and we order dinner. The 2 cool dip was meh, chips were good, guacamole had too many onions and not enough avocado, the cheese spread was just a miss. The Ozzie rolls were the saving grace, we were all starving and put in 2 orders and thank goodness cause our food was a nightmare. We ordered one regular combo fajita, one jumbo (for 2) combo fajita, and a chicken tenders with mashed potatoes. The meat for the fajitas came (including a giant piece of bone with fat) and they said they'd be bringing the rest. Then the chicken tenders. Then the server asked if we were OK and we said no, we needed tortillas, plate with guac, cheese, sour cream, etc, and side plates. We waited and waited. By the time anyone came back our friend had finished his entire meal (chicken tenders and mashed potatoes which he really enjoyed). He joked he could get another meal and finish it before we got our food. The manager came over, apologized, and said she'd take care of it, then took the fajitas to reheat them. Eventually she brought our fajitas and tortillas, I made a taco and took a bite and the giant chunk of bone was back. Like I showed the manager and put it to the side of the plate, I didn't expect it to come back mixed into the meat.
When the bill came, the dessert she suggested we order was comped off but we still paid $49 for THE WORST "jumbo" fajitas and $37 for regular fajitas. We never got the beans. Dinner took nearly two hours (when we knew exactly what we wanted walking in the door) and $140 of overpriced frustration.
We used to come here often, less so since covid, but we love the vibe, the ozzy rolls, and the fajitas are our favorite. I think it will be a long time before we come back to this location.
Previous review which was prior to the lack of quality control, trained kitchen staff, trained servers, customer focused managers: Good food, reliably good service. The staff is always accommodating...
Read moreUntil today this was my favorite restaurant. My waitress and the manager on duty do not know the meaning of customer service. My husband and I went for lunch. I ordered the dinner sized portion of the pork chops. Normally they come with a brown butter sauce, but it contains mushroon stock in it. I have a mushroom allergy and informed my server of it and ordered it it without the brown butter sauce. That is what I have done everytime I have ever been there. The food arrived and I started cuttind up the pork chop (only one was brought to me, they served me the lunch portion instead of the dinner portion like I had ordered). I noticed mushrooms and notified my server, mind you I never ate a bite. She apologized and said she forgot to tell the cook no sauce and warn them of my allergy. She took my plate and was going to have them fix it. The manager came over and apologized also. They both offered us a free dessert, I said no thank you, and said they would remove the porkchop from the bill. Meanwhile my husband ate his meal and I snacked on chips waiting for my food to arrive. She came back with the bill and no food. I asked to speak to the manager again after anothe 15 minutes passed. 30 minutes in total. He came to the table and I asked him the status of my order. He replied oh you wanted us to remake it? I was like thats what we have been sitting here for, he was like oh. He said we took the porkchops off the bill. I was like I hope so. I would hope you wouldnt charge me for a meal that could hurt me! We paid for the meal I watched my husband eat and left. I have been a customer there for over 15 years, that was the qorst customer service I have ever experienced. I will...
