I just purchased my usual beans from this shop, and I have made a mistake on using the wrong card for this specific purchase due to my credit card companyâs benefits. However, when I politely asked if they could cancel the payment so that I can use the correct card, the staff was talking towards me as if I am trying to scam out of them for the payment when I was only asking to cancel the payment in order to use the correct card I was given to make the purchase. I wasnât scamming nor do I have any intentions of doing so since I know my morals as a human being in society that thereâs no good in doing things that are not considered moral. However, I would like to ask that you train the staff properly when it comes to decency and tone of voice towards your customers. In addition, the additional comments that I have received such as âIf you are going to make me reverse the payment, I am going to get pissed because I donât know if I canâ was unnecessary and unprofessional, knowing that you can still cancel the payment. Please be transparent instead of trying to deceive your customers into thinking that you cannot do one thing when you do have the option to do so because the staff has shown me the tab on their end and I clearly saw the cancel payment option but they were insistent that there wasnât.
Update: I never indicated that the staff was cursing out at me but rather the tone delivery did not sit right with me. I have left the premises, assuming that the management wasnât there. The screen that the staff has shown to me clearly showed âCancel paymentâ or âNoâ when the UI (User Interface) menu showed âCancel payment of $__.â
What I wanted to point out was that I was not explained properly on why the payment canât be canceled and the system back-end being messed up is an issue for the management, not for the customer. The card issue could have been resolved but the staff member apologizing and saying that she canât when the menu SHOWS that she can click on that option was what I was having an issue with.
I am not here to shame the staff, but rather have a time for self-reflection on what is needed to be improved. The staff member having lack of knowledge to explain about the payment cancellation issue is purely just for her to learn from...
Read moreI happen to be next-door picking up a cake from Tiffany when a chance upon this roastery in the nondescript strip mall.
To my surprise, the first thing you see when you walk in is this big roasting machine with many but looks like a 5 gallon plastic white buckets of coffee beans labeled appropriately.
The proprietorâs wife happened to be there at that time, and I asked them about the roasting process and the roasting frequency. Apparently a âprofessional roasterâ does the roasting and they sell the beans on premise.
I bought the two bags of beans in the photo, and tried the Bali blue moon the next day. The aroma, while the beans sat in the car was an indication of how good the coffee might taste. It did not disappoint when I made the coffee for me and my Habesha Habibi!! She also commented on the amazing aroma.
Clearly, the pound of coffee is more expensive than other places. Itâs probably partly due to their labor of love and the fluctuating market prices of Coffee these days.
You love coffee, and youâre willing to pay for consistent, freshly ground coffee, then you canât go wrong with a medium to light or medium roast coffees. Iâm not a big fan of medium, dark and dark roasted copies.
By the way, I first sip the black coffee in the morning to get the authentic taste and then mix in a little bit of condensed milk, oat milk, a teaspoon of half-and-half, and a teaspoon of heavy cream to get a creamy, milky, coffee taste. My parents are from the southern state of Kerala, India, and we drink our coffee with rich whole milk.
I love supporting small independent roasters, because I know itâs difficult to make a living if they donât have a loyal following.
By the way, if you want to lower the average cost per cup, you can also use 70 to 80% of their coffee with 10 to 20% of a cheaper but not cheap for being Coffee without diminishing the overall taste by a lot (IMHSO in my honest...
Read moreI didn't go to this coffee shop very often in the past because I felt that the customer service was cordial, but not super friendly. The employees always seemed to be talking to each other and only working when they had to work (ie when a customer came in). However, during the month of December, I decided to stop in to get my husband a bag of coffee and I was pleasantly surprised by the customer service and my chai latte. I asked for a recommendation similar to French roast and the young lady looked up the information on her computer and gave me the recommendation. She was very helpful. I purchased the bag and my husband really liked it! As for the chai latte, in the past, it was never sweetened, so when I took it to my car to drink--boy, was it bitter! This time, the chai latte was sweetened for me. I appreciated that very much. Some of the reviews on here complain that the quality of the coffee has declined. To be honest, my tastebuds are not as good as they used to be since menopause (TMI!!), so I couldn't attest to quality of drinks. As for the increase in prices, I never went often enough for it to make a dent in my checkbook, but inflation has hit everywhere, hasn't it? I cannot think of any place that has NOT increased prices. The one critique I have is that the new employees probably need more training, not only in how to make drinks, but perhaps in counting back change. The man--who was not young--gave me incorrect change. It was off by 10 cents, but still.....that's a pretty important skill. For everything else, I like the improvements in the decor and also the improvements in customer service. I have actually started going in more often due to the...
