This place is a hidden gem for sure. We were craving Indian food, and this place promised to be an inexpensive and convenient option. The food itself is quite good at an incredibly reasonable price, with really generous portions, and is all freshly made to order. (We had chicken and goat biryanis, as well as their fried cod and enjoyed them all.) I will say though, if you're looking for strictly Indian cuisine, this may not be the place for you. We asked for daal, and the guy didn't know what we were talking about. So I would say this place likely leans more Pakistani, than Indian in terms of selection.

That said, where this place shines, and why I'm giving 5 stars, is their service. My goodness, the tall man who "served" us was incredible: he offered us samples at no prompting, didn't charge us for extras, and kept checking in on us to make sure we enjoyed our meal, despite this being a counter service establishment. I imagine the experience wouldn't be as stand out if one were ordering for delivery or carryout.

All in all, this is definetely a "no frills" sort of destination - expect counter service, paper plates, to clean up after yourself, and a questionable looking bathroom exterior (fine on the inside). But so long as you don't mind that, would certainly recommend for good food at a great price with...

My in-laws have been going here forever and it is there go-to spot for desi food...but I'm not sure why. Usually I love hole-in-the-wall restaurants, I'm not really a fan of Shiney's. We always get the food to go, so I can't speak to the dining inside experience. For our latest meal we got karhai chicken, chicken seekh kabob, channa masala, aloo sabzi, naan and ras malai. The karhai chicken was decent, warm and tasty. The kabob and aloo had some whole spices in it, which I don't really like. For me, there's nothing worse than biting into a whole coriander seed while eating. The channa masala seemed overcooked, it was mealy and needed salt. The naan didn't seem fresh, it was dry and needed either some butter or ghee brushed on top. The raita was really tasty - it had some heat to it, which is unusual, but made it delicious. The issue with the raita was that it wasn't properly emulsified, so there little chunks of yogurt floating in it and that doesn't look appetizing. The ras malai was probably the best thing we got. The consistency of the dumplings was good, the malai was smooth and it was just the right amount...

I ordered from Grubhub. I loved the food! The quality is top notch and the ingredients were all fresh! I had the goat karahi which wasn't gamy at all and the butter chicken which tasted freshly made as well! The flavors were on point! The portions were liberal and the naan and food were warm on arrival. The only issue was we didn't get our rice salad or chick pea side with our order-however we were compensated and hope to order again. The samosas looked great but I haven't had a chance to try them yet, as I over indulged on the karahi lol overall I found the food 5 star worthy and I am picky to say the least! I’m not new to this cuisine or NOVA. I haven’t been inside this place or had it since I was a child though lol. Furthermore, I wanted to add that the packaging for delivery was impressive. It was leak free, put inside the bags in proper order and they were very liberal with providing utensils and disposable plates as well. They also gave plenty of sauce on the side in a container too. Like I said over all I’m very impressed by the quality of the food and service! I imagine dining in the service will also be...

I hadn’t had food from here in years, since my dad used to bring home ras malai from here (which was a fav of mine). When in the area recently, I stopped in for lunch, not knowing that they actually offered a buffet!! I was happy to see this, as they had so many items on it that looked great: • Samosas • Pakora • Rice • Chicken Tikka • Saag with beef • Chicken curry • Aloo Muttar • Chana masala • Gulab jamen • And so much more! The pastry dough used to make the samosa was spot on and reminded me of the streets of Pakistan! The chick pea flour used in the pakora was flavored perfectly, though I wish it had a tad more spice to it. The other items I tried were great! Plus they made me a roti to eat it with. All the food and service were just what I needed to scratch the itch I’ve had for this food for some time now. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re seeking authentic Pakistani food!

Had a wonderful time at this gem of a restaurant. The staff was so kind! We ordered the chaat papri and the samosa chaat, as well as some sweets to go. The chaat papri was that perfect blend of crunchy, creamy, spicy, and tangy. The samosa platter was an excellent counterpart, deeply savory and delicious. While we were there, we had halwah (gajar halwa?): wonderfully sweet and comforting. The gulab jamun with cream was hands-down the best I've ever had, anywhere.

Update: If you're visiting for the buffet call ahead to ask what they're serving for it is not the same everyday. I totally loved this place. We ordered papdi chaat and they had a small buffet that was amazing. The buffet is 10.99 per person. We also tried some of their sweets and they tasted good and fresh. Their naan is heavenly. The staff were welcoming. Glad to have chosen this place for our weekend dinner.
