Yechon’s ambiance is a perfect blend of modern comfort and traditional charm. The decor, featuring warm wooden tones and delicate Korean motifs, creates an inviting and cozy atmosphere. Whether you’re seated at a table or in one of the more intimate booths, the setting is conducive to both casual dinners and special celebrations.
Service: The service at Yechon is exemplary. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the cuisine they serve. They are always ready to provide recommendations and explain the nuances of the dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Food:
Appetizers: The journey begins with an array of banchan, small side dishes that are both delightful and varied. Each visit offers a different selection, from spicy kimchi to savory pickled vegetables, setting the stage for what’s to come.
Main Courses: The menu is extensive, catering to a wide range of palates. The Galbi (grilled marinated short ribs) is a standout, with tender, flavorful meat that melts in your mouth. The Bibimbap, a rice dish topped with vegetables, beef, and a perfectly fried egg, is both visually stunning and delicious. Each bite is a harmonious blend of textures and flavors.
For those seeking a communal dining experience, the Korean BBQ is a must-try. Cooking your own meat at the table is both fun and engaging, and the quality of the cuts, from beef to pork, is top-notch. The accompanying dipping sauces and sides perfectly complement the grilled meats, creating a balanced and satisfying meal.
The Kimchi Jjigae (kimchi stew) is robust and hearty, with a deep, rich broth that showcases the fermented goodness of the kimchi. The Sundubu Jjigae (soft tofu stew) is another highlight, offering a comforting and spicy warmth that is perfect for any time of year.
Despite the high quality of the food and service, Yechon remains reasonably priced. The portions are generous, ensuring that you leave both satisfied and with the feeling that you’ve experienced true...
Read moreAfter COVID, they changed to bottled water only, a good sensible thing to do. Two thumbs up 👍👍 It's so crowded there... ahhh long lines, every single time I go there and I've been there quite a few times. I have not seen any frowning faces though. It only means one thing and one thing only. IT'S SO GOOD and everyone knows it. So why only 4 stars? Only to encourage the owners to do some work on waiting areas. Maybe some benches outside along the wall b/c there's just no space to do anything inside and if they did I'd rather see more tables. ;) they do have lots and lots of tables so they can receive tons of customers and to be honest the wait isn't too bad other than dinnertime on the weekends. The servers are incredibly fast to get to your table to take orders, serve, and refills, polite, and friendly and they all work together not for tips but to take care of the customers. The cleaning crews are also fast in refilling your water and hot barley tea. If anyone out there had a different experience it must been a really, really bad day. I review a lot and I don't give false statements and my family knows how high standards I have. Also, if any Korean restaurant's servers seem rude by 'not speaking' to you, most of the time, it's because of their lack of English and they see this as an embarrassing trait since they live in America. So, don't dismiss too quickly. The foods from the menu that I ordered are all good so far... they have a lot to choose from all depends on your mood. When it's hot, cold, raining or gloomy... I think that's the best thing about Korean foods, it all depends on your moods/needs they have it to cover it, especially, Yechon has them all. I don't know what it's like in the kitchen but they're doing an awesome job. I hope they can do something for the waiting areas if the law allows it. They deserve 5 stars... if you didn't give 5 stars, I urge you to give them...
Read moreI’m downgrading my review below to only one star or even none. In our most recent visit, we ordered our favorite dish, which is the seafood dish (Haemul Dolsot Bibimbap), which usually comes a with a decent amount of seafood. This time however it came with barely any seafood. So we asked our server if she can add more seafood. While waiting, the manager came and in extremely rude manner told us: don’t do that! And when we asked don’t do what? He said he watched us on security cameras as we ate and he saw that there’s enough seafood and they always serve the same amount. He was even talking very loud in front of all diners as if he caught us shoplifting from the back door of his restaurant. And when we asked him to bring the footage so we can review it together and count exactly how many seafood items we already ate to the “standard” being served, he left and never came back. We asked our server to call him, but she said he’s gone for the night (a busy enough night). Can you believe it?? What a funny sad story. We decided to never comeback here again and make that our last meal after going there for many years as loyal diners. But due to the manager/owner poor and rude attitudes, we’re done ✅ going there until he learns some manners on how to treat his customers very respectfully. We no longer can recommend this restaurant based on our last poor experience by the manager/owner.
Original Review (4 stars): If you like Korean/Asian cuisine, than you are certainly in for a treat. From the quality of the food, to the price, to the fixings, to the seating, to the service, everything is really great about this joint. Parking is plenty. But beware that normal times/peak dinner hours the place can be jam packed and it can take you a while to be seated. I...
