Betty's Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Anniston

Looking for some BBQ in my travels, I ran across this place and decided to give it a whirl. The service was prompt and courteous and my server Tandi was great. The tea was soured, either the sweet or the unsweet tea, as I prefer half & half. I ordered the sliced beef brisket come slaw and baked beans. The beans were good and even had a little meat in them, very sweet they were. The cole slaw was more or a finer puree style of chop with very little carrots in it, a very runny mayo style. The beef had a lot of gristle in it and had hardly any smoke flavor at all, it came smothered in bbq sauce, had it not it would have had no flavor hardly. Look at the picture, the smoke penetration was about 1/8" into the meat, very little. This meat was dry as well like it had been sitting around under a heat lamp for sometime, maybe it was just overcooked, but one or the other. The cornbread was dense and did not rise very much when it was made. It also had been made for a while. My family and I just left Betty's Bar-B-Q minutes ago and let me just say AMAZING😍💓 Amazing staff all around. Very clean, happy down home southern feel.❤ Our sever was Abi. So So So sweet,helpful,patient. I took for ever to figure out what I wanted to eat. She wasn't pushy or annoyed. Just polite,patient helpful and all around amazing. Never once was our drinks left empty. Our orders were 100% correct. Plenty napkins and condiments brought to our table. I had Grilled fingers,bake potato with bacon added,Turnip greens. I never had the greens before and was gonna switch to onion rings. My server assured me they were really good and to get them. If I didn't like them she said she wouldn't charge me and put order for the rings. Well I loved the turnips and happy I tried them. Seriously my family and I had wonderful experience at Betty's. I was very disappointed in my experience here today. I made a call in order at 6:40 pm and was told 15 minutes my food would be ready. At 7:10pm I arrived at to pick up my order which was not ready. I understand sometimes on a Friday night they could be extremely busy. I stood there for 5, 10, 15 minutes Still no food. I watched as people who ordered while I stood there got their food before me. (I had already payed.) After an additional 10 minutes I asked what the hold up was to which I was told, they just started cooking or dropped your food. I was seriously irritated after waiting almost and hour so my wife and I could eat dinner together. Needless to say, I cancelled my order, had to wait on my money to be returned and STILL the food was not ready. I am beyond disappointed with my service and lack of food.
