Im usually very generous and honest with my reviews and I have to say that today I had the worst dining experience in my entire life. The food was decent but in retrospect I'd not recommend this place to anyone. To start it took my drink being empty around 5 minutes before it was noticed. Not a huge deal but when you add what happened next it all culminates into the most atrocious dining experience ever. Me and my girlfriend were finishing up our plates when suddenly a waiter runs up and slams a chair into our table with no words. Me and my girlfriend were confused as to what was going on then the horror began. The waiter reached up with a cloth and all of the sudden a giant roach fell on our table and began crawling all over our table and food. My girlfriend runs in panic as it was basically inches away from her. I couldn't do anything but stand in shock while the waiter scrambled to chase down the gross menace. He was rearranging the table frantically when I realized my phone and wallet were on the table which I retrieved. The whole time the other staff just looked on with no words. After I went to the register another waiter simply said sorry can moved our drinks to another table. The whole restaurant was aghast at the scene that had unfolded and not one person that works there had anything to say but a single word. Having been subjected to this awful Incident I expected someone in management to address this issue properly including a proper apology to my girlfriend. At the counter they just simply stared at us and I said that I wouldnt be paying for a dinner that involved extra protein. They simply said OK and we left. Not only did they not acknowledge what had happened but they tried to act like it was no big deal. The waiter was the one who flicked the roach from the ceiling onto our table and my girlfriends plate but didn't have anything to say either. Then the management simply didn't care or ignored this completely while over a dozen people stared with their mouths to the ground. I've never been treated with so much indifference at a restaurant a situation that brought my girlfriend to tears and me in shock. If there are roaches in the dining area I would expect them to be elsewhere especially given the staffs response. I'd never recommend anyone to go here even if the health department finds eveything to be OK because of the lack of empathy and deny you would expect from eating at...
Read moreI’m not sure why people aren’t complaining about the presentation of this place. My husband took and it was awful, he ate one plate (or most of it) I refused to eat anything from here and for these reasons: the outside of the building looks like it needs to be condemned, once you walk inside the foyer is dark and nasty. My guess is they keep the lights down so you don’t see the dirt or the slime in the fish pond. We were seated quickly with zero wait time and then I went to the restroom. The restroom had urine all over the floor and around the toilets were so nasty that the urine had turned black. Came back and the kitchen door was opened and there was a large bowl with food inside the flour sitting on the floor I’m guessing they were going to be frying something to put out on the bar… the floors in the kitchen are disgusting from what I could see. I’m truly surprised the health department has not shut them down. When I mentioned something.. I was reminded that we are in alabama you know. No pics because I left my phone at home… if you don’t believe this comment go check it out...
Read moreNo.1 China Buffet in Anniston, AL is a remarkable place for dining, lunch or dinner 365 days a year. Like most buffet restaurants, No.1 China Buffet has an ample selection of foods to pick from, but not just Chinese/American. Other Asian and Polynesian nations are represented as well as Latin cuisine on a regular basis. Trays in the buffet are refreshed as needed and the service area around the buffet stations are kept clean and free from spills. Quality on some dishes can be spotty, but overall is of the best quality. They also offer a full ala carte menu of traditional Asian cuisine for dine in or take-out. Staff is polite and attentive without being overbearing, like some places. The restrooms are, for the most part, clean and reasonably maintained. Prices are reasonable and they offer senior discounts, even without having to ask. Ambiance is classical Chinese music and the lighting is better than normal for such places, without being glaring. The booths could use an updating to round out this fine establishment. All in all, an...
