Santini's Pizza Palace — Restaurant in Ansonia

I have been a loyal Santini's Pizza customer for four years, purchasing all my pizzas from there for various events, including ones for the youth in Ansonia. Despite ordering up to 25 to 30 pizza pies with different flavors and spending around $600 or more each time, I have never requested a discount. Today, the pizzeria owner disrespected me greatly by yelling in my ear and rudely hanging up the phone. I felt insulted and appalled by his unprofessional behavior. I have decided to stop supporting Santini's and will not recommend it to others. I am so offended that I plan to write a letter to our mayor regarding the conduct of this business in Ansonia. I will not patronize or endorse this establishment again simply because I inquired about their advertised promotion of receiving a free pizza for every five purchased, which was always honored by their staff in the past. My wife and I are foodies, and we travel quite a bit. Just moved here for a short work assignment and found this place. This is hands down the best pizza I have EVER eaten! I ordered a medium Santini's Special, with pepperoni, sausage, bacon, mushroom, onion, green pepper and light fresh garlic. The crust was PERFECT! I think they call this (Detroit style/deep dish/fried crust style???....maybe???) My wife ordered a traditional gyro, but she hasn't tasted it yet, because she tried MY PIZZA and is now full. Needless to say, she says this is the BEST PIZZA she has ever had also. I think we just found our weekly Friday date-night spot! I can already say we are going to miss this place when we have to move to our next work assignment. Can't wait to try all their other menu...

I ordered a pizza and to my surprise it was different from the other kinds of the same pizza I had gotten anywhere else. I called them and explained that this pizza tasted weird to me and I couldn’t really eat it and instead of saying too bad that’s how we make this kind of pizza like other places would or making me pay for another pizza they gladly exchanged the pizza for a different one and even delivered it to me again! This kind of customer service is much appreciated and the delivery driver was very apologetic and not a jerk about it. He didn’t mind coming back to my house twice. The staff was very understanding and helpful. I never write reviews for anything but I had to for this incident! Thank you to the awesome staff...
