Called for pizza delivery and after an hour called back to check on the status of the delivery and the man who answered the phone flipped out screaming!? Not sure what was goin on over there at that moment, but I called and asked about our order he put me on hold for a few minutes speaking to someone in the background then stated that it would be ten minutes more I mentioned that it has been one hour already then he started screaming that it has only been fifty minutes .. I stated that my first call to order was exactly one hour prior to this call and he started screaming that he is a good man! So, I said Iâm not not saying your a bad man itâs just that itâs been an hour already, but he continued to scream I can tell by his voice he was shaking angry and then screamed - I will cancel your order! and I said thatâs fine your choice.
My order was a Jumbo pizza for $40 bucks and he canceled my order because he messed up and failed to provide. Usually, itâs the customer who cancels the order, but he canceled my order after patiently waiting over an hour at that point because he messed up! I guess he wasnât a good man after all and even worse businessman if he cannot simply apologize. So be it he obviously does not need his hometown neighborly consumer business.
True Story, my family stopped going to Zanis Pizza many years ago and figured itâs been so long why not give them an order. We had stopped going when after eating we asked for a few slices of pizza to be boxed up and I saw the man drop the slices onto the floor and then picked them up and put them into the box and handed it over to my child. He didnât notice that I saw him so I didnât argue I just tossed the box into the trash outside his door and just never went back. I do not argue with restaurants who have poor business practices I just never go back. So many years has passed since then and wanting to support my hometown business I figured to give them another chance and then this happens with the disgruntled screaming phone man.
Whelp, that is on them to turn away good money and lose business so instead we went down to Hot Tamales in Seymour, had dinner a few drinks and sang karaoke.
Thank you, Zanis disgruntled screaming phone man for providing us with a great dinner experience in Seymour at...
Read moreAnyone who rates this terrible place higher then one star must have been forced against their will. In my experience, not only was my order wrong, when I called about the order âZANIS himselfâ took over the call then proceeded to completely disrespect me as a customer! Saying things like, his âmanhoodâ was the size of his chicken parm grinders, thatâs how he knows it was the right size grinder. Or how I was trying to scam him out of free food, by calling more then once. This was the first time Iâd ever ordered from this establishment. My order was prepared with the least amount of care possible. The chicken and broccoli penna was as dry as Death Valley, and had barely any flavor to it. The chicken parm grinder was made with, what seemed like, Tysonâs chicken strips, little to no cheese and to top it off was a tablespoon of sauce for the âD!âŹ|{â sized grinder! Not to mention the roll was burnt, which was pointed out by sir ZANIS himself after he thought I wouldnât bring it to his front door, after our ridiculous conversation, where he invited me to visit him with the food in question. 30+ years in the business, and you think you have it all figured out? Maybe you should reconsider, and work on your customer relations. I would never recommend ârestaurantâ, for lack of a better term. In fact I would encourage you to âtry the 20 other places in townâ per ZANIS! Thank you...
Read moreFoods amazing, I love ordering from this place, the three stars is just for the fact that I guess they, along with a bunch of other places, started charging a delivery fee? Since when? At that point I might as well just order from Uber eats cause the free delivery was literally the only thing that these places had on Uber eats and the other ordering apps that charge an arm and a leg for delivery. Sucks cause I really liked ordering from here.
Edit: I reviewed a year ago which is the last time I ordered from here, and I guess the service went even more downhill besides adding back delivery fees.
I ordered poppers and a large sausage and eggplant calzone. Get a call saying they're out of poppers and can substitute it for mozz sticks or wings. I choose mozz sticks despite poppers being the main reason I ordered from them because I don't usually let small things get me like that.
I should have instead cancelled the order like my gut told me too because not only did I not get the poppers, but apparently large cheese calzone with sausage and eggplant means Large cheese pizza with sausage and eggplant because that's what I got instead of the calzone I ordered.
NEVER. ORDERING. FROM HERE AGAIN!
JUST GO TO ALBERTO'S OR ITALIAN PAVILION! At least they stay consistent with...
