I visited the Apex Hwy 64 store and ordered 4 plates to go. On the last order I ask for beans and rice . The beans metal container being very low to the point of hearing the metal spoon scrape through the few beans and juice. The Server scooped mostly bean juice and a few bean over my rice. I kindly ask if she could add a few more beans over my rice and she refused to do so. I ask a supervisor to come look at the “rice and bean juice “ and she refused to even look to see if it was a fair portion. The server finally Look again and added a few more bean after holding up a line of at least 8 customers behind me. The problem being, you want my hard earned money for an already expensive But now half prepared plate! TOTALLY CUSTOMER DISREGARD AND ZERO COURTESY!!! RESTAURANTS IN AMERICA THROW AWAY TONS OF FOOD AT THE END OF THE NIGHT, BUT SHE DECIDES THAT HER JOB AND PRIDE WAS AT RISK IF SHE ADDED THE RIGHT PORTION OF BEANS TO MY RICE AND BEANS!!! SHE WAS TRAINED BY THIS ALPACA COMPANY TO PORTION, ALL IN THE NAME OF MONEY AND PROPHET, EVEN IF ITS NOT THE PROPER PORTION!….. I DIDNT ASK FOR MORE…I ASK FOR WHAT I WAS PAYING FOR , THE RIGHT PORTION. BUT OH WELL RIGHT??? I WONT BE SPENDING MY HARD EARNED MONEY OVER THERE NO MORE!!! ALPACA YOU NEED TO TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES HOW TO EXTEND COURTESY SIMPLE ON FAIR REASONING! WHICH THIS WAS FAIR TO ASK . BECAUSE AFTER A DAMN 5 MINUTE STANDOFF OVER A TABLE SPOON OF BLACK BEANS. SHE FINALLY LOOKED AND REALIZED SHE GAVE ME A BUNCH OF BLACK BEAN SAUCE AND RICE RATHER THAN BLACK BEANS AND RICE. THEN OF COURSE “I HAND ALPACA MY MONEY RIGHT”??? THE PETTY GREED OF THIS NATION AND ITS BUSINESSES...

I placed an order for chicken and sides at the Alpaca, Apex location for pickup. Unfortunately, they made an error in the order—specifically, they forgot to include half of the chicken! While I can understand the occasional oversight with a small side, missing half of the main course is quite frustrating. I had driven for 30 minutes to pick up the food, and they suggested I return to the location to rectify the mistake. Given the inconvenience of another hour-long round trip, I was reluctant to comply.

Upon contacting the restaurant to request a refund for the missing chicken and express my dissapointment, I was informed that the reimbursement process would take 5 to 7 business days. Considering I spent over $60 on the entire order, which included a 15% tip, this experience was disappointing. I recommend double-checking your bags, even if they tied it close, if you decide to order takeout from this particular location. Please check your orders before leaving!

Nowadays, we often pay a substantial amount for take-out, including generous tips, with the expectation of receiving prompt, efficient, and error-free service. Unfortunately, this restaurant did not meet those expectations for me today.

Update: I am upgrading my review because my refund was quickly refunded and the food we had was really delicious. This mistake did cause us to have to run out and grab a second boring chicken from the supermarket that nobody...

I’ve never had Boston Market before but Alpaca is what I would imagine a premium version of that would be. It’s a fast meal since everything is prepped already, but if you want to dine in, you can order at the counter and they’ll bring the food to your table. We stopped by on a Wednesday at around 5 to pick up some dinner. We ordered a whole chicken and another half. For the halves and quarter chickens, you get to pick white or dark meat, which I really appreciated because I’m a dark meat kind of gal. Each chicken, regardless of whole, half or quarter, comes with two sides. We did two regular sides - white rice and coke slaw, and two premium sides (add 50 cents) - maduros and yuca fries. Sauces are on the side and there’s a green sauce that is a must. It’s some kind of cilantro-y sauce that has a kick to it. The yellow sauce was Mayo-based, which was okay. We got the food to go and didn’t eat it until maybe an hour or so later and everything still held up very well. It was enough food (with leftovers) for 4 adults and 3 kids.

Overall, everything was great and seemed to be a crowd pleaser. I mean $21 for a whole Peruvian chicken AND sides? It would cost more time and money just to make it yourself. Highly recommend if you want a quick, delicious,...

We wanted to try this place. It was busy. We picked this up. I didn’t realize curbside meant come in and get it (we are more dine-in types) so I sat outside for 10 minutes waiting for the appointed time I booked from the website. Then I went in. Turns out It was sat there a while getting cold. Warmed it up at home which made the yucca fries a bit hard. Yellow sauce was good. Chicken was fresh etc, flavor was ok, not amazing. Price for a whole chicken with two 8oz sauces & one side was around $32 with tip & tax etc. It would have cost about the same these days for grocery store rotisserie chicken & sides. Sides in here are expensive. I think $4.50 for black beans? We added our own. The app suggests a 15% or more tip for pick up, take out, fast food. Don’t love that idea. Bit cringy. Felt pressured. Pay your staff. I won’t go out of my way to avoid Alpaca Chicken but I won’t hurry back either. I think the chicken at Chipotle is much better. But not Apex Chipotle which is awful.

This is a really nice, casual dining, Peruvian shop. Service is fast, the menu is clear, and the ingredients are concisely explained. The food is delicious and the portions are sufficient to generous. The Pollo Saltado chicken was succulent and flavorful with a perfect combination of tomatoes, onions, and fries. The Arroz Chaufa is a tasty Peruvian fried rice with a nice blend of meat and vegetables with the rice. I also think you should try new drinks with new foods, so the Chi Cha Morada was a unique experience with a pronounced clove flavor. I also recommend starting your meal with the Alfajores sugar cookies. Their delicate flavor with Dulce de Leche filling is easily overcome by the dinner flavors if you save it for after the main meal. Again, another reason I recommend dessert first.
