I've been here several times since they opened, always a decent experience. Not today, I came in to a "hello" and a smile, to a dinning room with 3 other people seated in the whole place so not busy at all. I was seated, ordered and given a drink. My order came out wrong, couple pretty simple requests. Home fries well but not deep fried and dry toast. My food came quickly but the home fries were deep fried and toast buttered as well as the bacon being under cooked. Really no big deal, I brought it to the waitresses attention and she took it back to the kitchen. Bacon came back burnt, toast not replaced and she brought some new home fries which were fine. Still no big deal, so I start to eat and end up pulling a 6-8 inch hair out of my mouth.Very gross but no need to ruin anyone else's breakfast, like I said I've been here before and the whole place is always very clean. So, I move my plate to the side of the table (and just so we are clear I am bald, completely shaved head) so she can see it so she knows to stop by. I showed her the hair and quietly told her after she asked where I found the hair that it was in my eggs. She was very apologetic and asked if I was done and I told her "thank you, yes I am done". I was not even halfway thru my meal but it appetite was gone for sure. Definitely not her fault, it was a light colored hair and I didn't even see it until I felt it in my mouth. I am flipping thru my wallet looking for cash for a tip, because like I said it was definitely not on her, so I am about to drop a $10 on the table when she comes back and hands me a check discounted $1.05 and walks away. So I got up and walked over to her and asked if this was correct and she said yes, I got a 10% discount, lol. The tab was only a bit over $10 to start. Mind you its not the $10, its the principle. I get a plate of food with a hair in it, stop eating because who wouldn't and send the food back and get a dollar off. I wont be back, accidents happen and not the end of the world but how you handle those mistakes matters and this was...
Read moreWe work out at the gym next door and had finally eaten st this cute little breakfast spot about a month ago. First time we came it was super busy but we were still serviced quickly and efficiently even while the young girl was in training that day. The breakfast chorizo quesadilla is absolutely amazing though the pancakes need a little work, the food and everything else was GREAT! Fast forward to yesterday, a quiet Saturday afternoon we try again as we wanted to explore more on the menu...but I guess there's a reason you stick to your favs sometimes. Disappointed in the quality of food we ordered. The chicken fried steak looks more like a breaded sausage patty made for a kids sandwich cooked too hard (on a timer) and my husband's grit bowl seemed to only have a tablespoon of grits! The waitress and restaurant manager were sooo helpful in getting more grits for the bowl and remade the chicken fried steak but still the same size though cooked a little better. Manager even brought me a larger cut that apparently they were asked to scale back on. I understand times are hard but the difference is QUITE significant as you can see below. So why is it that the size changed but the price doesn't reflect the same change? Also it should be listed on menu as a sandwich basically or mini chicken steak.. They tried very hard to explain and make up for this poor food experience which is the only thing that saved us from not wanting to come back, the staff. We will try again but now know what to stay away from unless there's a change in food control where the higher ups now see this as alarming when so many other places offer full portion chicken or country fried steaks and the grit bowl are actually grits you're not searching for. Kuddos to the staff from, hostess, to waitress, runners and management for saving your customers...I hope Corporate...
Read moreIâve been wanting to try this place for a while, and finally got a chance to go with my family today.
Service:
Pros: We were greeted when we walked in (even though it looked pretty busy), and sat down at a table very quickly. The waiter came to our table within a couple of minutes and answered the questions we had. It was our first time there, so we needed some extra time to put our order in. The waiter returned maybe five to seven minutes later to take our order.
Cons: My son had ordered a bagel a la cart, but when it came to the table, he got bacon instead. I guess the waiter misheard the order, apologized, and told us that our bagel should be on our way (no big deal). As we were getting close to the end of our meal, the waiter came back to the table and noticed that we still hadnât received our bagel. He apologized, and told us it should be here soon. At the end of our meal, we still hadnât gotten our bagel. The waiter apologized again, and assured us that we would get our bagel. We ended up paying our bill, and waited for the bagel that never came. We ended up leaving (at least the waiter did not put the bagel on our bill).
Food: I felt as though the food was pretty average, and nothing really stood out. I ordered my eggs âover mediumâ but they came out âover easy.â I ate them anyway⊠not worth complaining about. The home fries were cold⊠which was a bummer. The country fried steak was good, but the single piece was kind of small (for the price, I was expecting more). Perhaps the best thing I ate was the biscuit⊠although I was confused about them being flat like discs.
Overall, the food was average, but edible. Would I go back? Unlikely, unless someone really wanted to go back. But I donât think my family is interested...
