It was my first visit to the restaurant, and unfortunately, the experience wasn’t great. After placing my takeout order, I asked the girl working there how long it would take, and she told me 30–35 minutes. I decided to wait because I understood it was a new place, and I really wanted to give it a try since my family loves Indian food.
After paying, the girl told me that they didn’t have some of the dishes I had ordered, so I had to replace them with different items. I had also ordered a Chai Tea while waiting, and later they informed me that they didn’t have that either. Again, I understood that it was a new restaurant and wanted to give them a chance.
After waiting for 55 minutes, I had to ask what was going on with my order, and they didn’t have an answer. A man, who I assume was the owner, came out three times to ask me what I had ordered and then went back to the kitchen. Then, they brought out an order that was supposedly mine, but it was completely different from what I had requested.
They asked me twice more what I had ordered, and after more than an hour of waiting, this man came out to tell me I had to wait even longer. At that point, I was too frustrated and had to ask for a refund because waiting for over an hour without knowing if I would even get what I ordered was just not acceptable.
After they refunded my money, the owner didn’t even come out to speak to me or offer an apology. I had never experienced anything like this before, and it’s disappointing to receive such service, especially since we were so excited when we heard they were opening because we love Indian food.
At some point, I might give them another chance, and I hope their service has...
Read moreThe food was excellent and I would definitely come back here. I’m glad there is an Indian food place in Apopka now. With that in mind I’d like to offer a bit of feedback.
The service was a little slow, albeit friendly, considering less than half of the eight tables in the place had someone at them at any given time. It wasn’t incredibly annoying as I can wait for my food but when the main dish gets delivered to the table it should be brought out with the rice and any naan that was ordered. I didn’t want to start eating until I had all the items together. Perhaps an additional server or cook is in order to help things move along at a pace more suited for dining in.
Finding the place was rather difficult as a sign for a completely different restaurant, that I suppose this place has replaced, hangs over the door, and no other indication that this is the Indian food place is present. I saw a couple of times where people were walking around outside trying to locate the place and where someone else came in thinking it was the old restaurant, they promptly left. At least put a printed out sign in the door until something more permanent is hung.
This place is new so it may take some time to work...
Read moreWe set up our coworker lunch here. It was recommended by someone who has been to the Tampa location. The outside banner was ripped, so I walked to verify that it was the correct spot. Was welcomed by Ana, the only server in the small-scale restaurant. They're set up with six tables for seating four people at each. It used to be a Chinese restaurant, and you can still see the set up which remains up. We took a seat, and the five of us were a bit tight in the one table but made it work. Two of us went with the lunch version of the butter chicken, I had the chicken Tikka masala ($16), and one had the rice. For the lunch special they offer a naan with any entrée. My meal was absolutely delicious, the perfect combination of flavors, some thick chunks of green peppers, and onion in the masala sauce. The naan was crispy, toasty with a subtle coating of melted butter. Even though she was the only server Ana was good with tending to our...
