My mother purchased a $100 gift card for my family from the Pizza Hut on 883 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703. I tried to use the card for the first time at the Pizza Hut on Rock Springs Road (close to where we live). The manager told me there was a zero balance on the card. I was shocked because this was a brand new card that had never been used before. I scratched the back of the gift card in the store, in order to get the pin number to use it. Thankfully, we had the receipt from the Pizza Hut on 883 Semoran Blvd proving that $100 should be on the gift card. The manager at Rock Springs Road was nice enough to give me a discount because she saw it was a brand new card and we had the receipt from the other location. To make a very long and frustrating story short, none of the employees (including the manager at the Pizza Hut on 883 E Semoran Blvd) helped us once we explained that we purchased this faulty card at their establishment. The employees and even the manager on duty were extremely rude. The cashier and manager refused to give my mom a refund (even though we had receipts to prove we bought the card there). My mom contacted Pizza Hut’s corporate office and we still have not received a refund. I do not recommend the Pizza Hut on 883 E Semoran Blvd to anyone. The service and management is lousy. I strongly encourage anyone looking to purchase a Pizza Hut gift card from the store on E Semoran to look elsewhere (they are thieves and will never receive my business again). To take this scathing review of the worst Pizza Hut on earth one step further, I must say that I am thoroughly disappointed at the response from Pizza Huts Corporate office. They honestly, have not done anything to make this...
Read moreThis was a terrible dining experience. Went there for the buffet. There were only 6 slices of pizza, the remainder of some pasta and 1 cold bread stick. We waited for a very long time. The waiter brought us our drinks in good time and said that he asked the manager to put out more pizza. We waited and waited and waited. The server apologized repeatedly and kept saying that he was asking the manager to put out more food. Finally 2 pizzas came out and were immediately jumped on by the people who were there before us and were waiting for a long time. My wife asked fora pepperoni pizza.Again the waiter apologized for the delay. After another long wait there came a veggie and a mushroom pizza. Again the waiter apologized and said that he again asked the manager to put out more food. And said he just wouldn't put out the food. In the meantime 2 construction workers walked out saying they were not paying. Then another man who had come in and ate 1 piece of pizza and a Pepsi got tired of waiting and left without paying. Finally the pepperoni pizza came out. We ate and left. We were there for well over an hour. Fortunately we are retired and didn't have to be back to work. The waiter was very attentive and was trying very hard to but just couldn't motivate the manager. Waiter pleaded with us to come back on a Monday, Tuesday or Friday when there is a...
Read moreThis rating is strictly based on it being a dine in location, not from any delivery experiences.
We've now been to this location twice for dine-in, as they are getting harder and harder to find these days and I remember back when Pizza Huts were all that way.
In any case, the restaurant was not busy on either of our visits (6 to 8 PM range), with 2 and 3 couples total in the dining room. The service speed and demeanor are not what you typically expect from the waitstaff. Refills are slow, To-go boxes have to be asked for (after waiting for awhile first), and even paying the check when standing at the register.
I'm thinking that this location is really geared more towards the delivery side and the behind the scenes team members are "punished" by having to take care of the dining room. That is the kind of attitude we've felt both times.
The next closest Pizza Hut to us in this format is in Eustis and Leesburg. Eustis caught fire and is expected to be rebuilt in the near future, hopefully staying in the dine-in format. When that happens, we'll be heading there to see if it's any better.
On an additional note, the available carryout deals are way better ($5.99 each for a 2-topping large vs 2x 2-topping larges and breadsticks for $19.99) and you don't have to add on a tip.
It's just a matter of time before this style of Pizza Hut...
