If I could give less than one star, I would. Ordered via Grub Hub (shout out to @Grub Hub - awesome delivery). MIKADO'S: Ordered at 4pm when it was not a high volume time, esp for a Friday night. No place on Grub Hub to advise how you want meat cooked, sauces, etc., Called Mikado's and told them I had just placed an over $100 order on line and wanted the fillet minion with the lobster tail cooked medium rare: FILLET MINION NOT DELIVERED - STEAK THAT WAS DELIVERED - THIS IS THE TOUGHEST STEAK I HAVE EVER EATEN. LOBSTER: tastes like it has been sitting there for days - not fresh; shrimp not fresh - like rubber; ASKED FOR GINGER SAUCE (3 small tubs) - got one and 5 shrimp sauce that I advised I did not need sent. CALLED MIKADOS - because I am an avid believer of there is 2 sides to every story. I asked for owner / manager and guy who answered the phone said they are really busy and no one could speak to me. I advised him of the issues...and HE HUNG UP ON ME. Dialed back immediately and a woman answered the phone who identified herself as the owner. When I advised her of the issues and that I am also a JACKSONVILLE, FL food blogger as well and would sincerely like her response to the stated issued - she TOTALLY lost it and hung up on me as well. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE - they are overworked, understaffed, not cooking fresh food - I've put it all in the trash and cannot wait until MONDAY when I can post my official food blogging post. MIKADOS has constant Health Dept issues. I get it everyone, we all want some sense of normalcy, HOWEVER, I will not spend money for food that is not what I ordered (THAT WAS NOT FILLET MILION -- more like rubber pellets; LOBSTER & SHRIMP REHEATED AND SENT - the $50 question is HOW LONG are they letting it SIT THERE and reheating and serving it. SAKURA'S on San Jose Blvd is undergoing new renovations and new ownership (shout out to former owners for fresh food, great chefs, reasonable pricing and always making sure customer is happy) --- STAY TUNED WHEN NEW OWNERS TAKE OVER. I'm going to make a ham and cheese sandwich now - stay well all and AWARD & PATRONIZE those who serve and make a difference. SHUN food businesses who aren't concerned with fresh food - people getting what they paid for. FILET MINION MY *(&)&%!&. The pandemic usually brings out the best in people / businesses...

At abt 2:40, we were seated at a table, given a lunch menu, and asked what we wanted to drink. When the waitress left, I looked thru the menu, made a food decision, and let my spouse know, before heading to the restroom. Upon return, was surprised to see we were being moved to a different table - no explanation, just: ‘Sorry, we need to change table’.

This wasn’t a problem. No worries. As we chatted awhile amongst ourselves, we happened to noticed the menu was different. It was the same food, but not the lunch menu we previously made selections from.

Since no one brought our drinks, either, there was no one to ask to exchange the menus. When cleaning staff passed us on their way to set up another table, we stopped them to explain our table had been switched, and we were given different menus from those we previously had.

They apologized & sent someone over. Rather than bringing the requested menus, we were instead told the lunch menu ended at 3:00. This was an unexpected surprise. I reminded her we had arrived and were previously seated before being moved to the current table . The waitress had even taken our drink requests. As a matter of fact, I checked the time on my phone as I spoke, just to be certain I was correct... I showed her the time as it was rolling over to 3:03. Unbelievably she said- see, it is 3:03 now. Sorry, lunch menu only until 3:00.

Evidently, we had no choice, and by then, it had started raining outside. It was either leave, or order from the dinner menu. We chose the latter. A mistake.

The dinner menu & it’s increased pricing provides the customer with steamed broccoli, literally still cold in the center; tough & chewy shrimp, decent small scallops, and fried rice and that was anything but. (Certainly not the fried rice typically served at other Japanese restaurants we frequent). One would think someone among the staff would have shown concern that the two of us, AND, the couple seated at the table after us, had pushed all the rice aside.

As our plates were cleared, I asked for a togo cup for my soft drink. ‘Sorry, we out of cups. No cups’.

Wonderful. We, too, are Sorry, …but not sorry. We don’t intend to return to see if you...

My family and I go here all the time, but never again after last night. The management was extremely rude. The restaurant is open until 10pm on Saturdays. The sign on the door even says it. Their business was slow so the manager or owner whoever he was basically rushed my family out the door. They were cleaning the grills with whatever chemicals while my children 11 months and 7 years old were eating their food. It smelled. The moment we walked out the door it was closed and locked at 942pm. Despite the uncomfortable vibe we received all night for the first time ever, we wanted to see about having our son's birthday at the restaurant. I had forgotten to ask so I turned right back around and knocked on the door to ask real quick. I was yelled at by the manager that I needed to leave and they are closed. After I spent over 100.00 in their restaurant and do this at least once a month. What if my child needed to use the restroom or something? I spend all this money and you can't even open the door to make sure I didn't forget something? I literally had just walked out the door. I didn't even make it out the entrance. My husband stood outside the car as I got the kids settled in and the waiters were walking out. He didn't see any harm in asking them so he did. The man came running out of the restaurant yelling and screaming that we need to leave. I have a biracial family, and I'm trying not to believe we were being stereotyped but that's what it felt like. I had never seen this man before and prior to him being present during our visit, service was always amazing. Due to his lack of customer service and nasty attitude my family will never spend another penny at this establishment. It's no wonder the place is dead every time we go there. We are always the only people in the...

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat and were seated promptly. The server came out to take our order and it seemed that she was capturing everything appropriately, but brought my sister's order out incorrectly twice (since hers had to be specially cooked in the back). The portions of the food served were huge, the entertainment value that's usually associated with a hibachi grill was incredibly low. But the food was good. I may try a different hibachi grill next time. If you find this review helpful, please press like below.

It’s a no from us. Went early on a Labor Day weekend (6pm Sunday). Sat at the hibachi with a strange group of people, lackluster service, coughing hibachi chef with zero flair. Watched the group behind us getting the full experience was kinda disappointing. $125 for flavorless, sad food. Lesson learned. Miso soup was bland, probably a powder. Ginger salad was extremely wet, fried rice/veg was made with only oil and soy sauce(chef didn’t add butter/ salt/pepper). Wham ban thank you maaam kinda service

Have missed coming here! We moved to Mandarin, but used to come all the time when they were right on Phillips and when they 1st moved. The spicy tuna rolls were great, and the sushi chef was very accommodating to add eel to the top as a special request (for a small extra charge) Also when inquiring about salmon and masago eggs we were given a sample of the latter and decided to add it on top of the sushi rolls. They have the best Miso soup and the rice was good. BTW the wasabi- very hot!! 🔥👍😉
