STAY AWAY||This Hilton location is horrific. The staff made what should of been a very happy day stressful and upsetting. ||If you don’t fill all the rooms in your room block they charge you for every unfilled room. Even though we notified them 5+ months in advance our guest count was down, they “did us a favor” of lowering the room block but saying we needed to guarantee we would spend 2k during our room block. ||Not until a week before, we were told since we are having a cash bar, we had to pay $400 for a bartender and also money spent at the restaurant did not count. We were completely blindsided. When we questioned Cece and Bheena about this they immediately got defensive and could not provide a good explanation. ||I’m addition to this we had numerous complaints from our guests that the staff were rude. My cousin asked for adjoining rooms for my 90 year old fall risk grandmother and a very rude front desk agent said it was not possible and argued with her. She got ahold of a manager eventually who booked the adjoining room, however when they showed up at 4pm the day of the wedding, they were told they didn’t have a reservation. My grandmother had to get ready in my maid of honors room. ||We had another guest who was told they were fully booked on a Tuesday night, he showed up in person to get a room on Tuesday and there was plenty of rooms available. ||To finish off our wedding night, the bar staff decided one of our guests had too much to drink and when she ordered a shot gave her a shot of water instead. My husband questioned them about this, as our guest was not being loud or crazy. The bartenders got very defensive and the bar manager Chelsea came over.||I had not drank since our reception and calmly walked over to see how I could help. One of the bartenders started shouting at me about what was going on. The bar manager looks at me and starts shouting that “this is completely unacceptable and she’s shutting things down”. Chelsea the bar manager has one of the nastiest attitudes I have ever come across in hospitality. My maid of honor was looking to get a key made an hour before and ran into Chelsea at the front desk. Not knowing she was the bar manager, my maid of honor said she was looking for a key. Chelsea replied “that’s not my job” and walked away. ||Oh and the cherry on top, a roach ran across my wall the night before the wedding, so clearly not the cleanest place either. ||Cece called to discuss all this and get information today and said they’d look into it, but ultimately I feel like she gaslighted me. She basically told me her staff wouldn’t do that and gave reasons for everything. Basically it was a “I’m sorry you feel this way but I disagree” type of call. According to her they did us a favor and were very good to us. ||I spent 12+ years working in hospitality and I’m shocked at what we experienced. ||Brides and grooms, don’t let this hotel ruin your day, find somewhere...
Read moreWe had a generally positive experience with our stay at this Hilton Garden Inn. The hotel itself is in a nice location and is clean and new. It was easy to park and parking was complimentary. The check-in process was smooth and the staff was friendly and helpful. They were able to accommodate our request for connecting rooms for our extended family. The rooms themselves are wonderful. The king suite was spacious, with a large living room and bathrooms in both rooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and kid-friendly. The only disappointment we had was with the food and beverage service. When we went to order dinner, we were told that they had a large party they were catering, and directed us to come back in an hour. We complied, and returned an hour later. They once again informed us that they were still accommodating the party, and would be unable to provide us with dinner for yet another hour. We were pretty upset at this point, and the bartender agreed to go speak to the manager. They reluctantly agreed to prep our dinner order, which was dumbed down to accommodate food for just our toddler. This was completely unacceptable - it was outside of our control that the hotel did not plan appropriately to be able to continue providing their advertised dinner service while accommodating a party. What’s worse, the next morning when we went downstairs for breakfast, the lady managing breakfast service from the bar was rude and appeared constantly irritated. All of this attitude when they’re charging $17 per person for a “continental breakfast” (basically burnt waffles, scrambled eggs, and the usual quick prep breakfast foods) that is typically free at most hotels. Outside of the food and beverage service at this hotel, we would have rated our...
Read moreHilton Garden Inn in Apopka, Florida, was where many acquaintances and family members stayed in September 2023. We were there to attend a large family wedding held next door at Highland Manor.
The Hilton Garden Inn is delighted air-conditioned, and the check-in at reception is fast.
The large lobby has a bar (opens at 5 PM), several muted flat-screen televisions, tables with comfortable chairs, and an à la carte breakfast area and restaurant.
There is a swimming pool outside with lounge chairs, several free parking areas, a 24-hour fitness room, strong Wi-Fi in all areas of the hotel, and two large fast elevators.
The suites all have king-size beds, side tables with light fixtures and sockets to charge telephones, tablets, iPads or laptop computers. Each room has a walk-in closet with digital safe, places to hang clothes or store suitcases, plus an iron and ironing board.
Additionally, each room has thermostatic controls that you can adjust to your own comfort level. The mattresses and pillows are comfortable. There is a 55-inch flat-screen smart television on the wall, a coffee machine with a daily supply of coffees, creamers and sugar, and a microwave oven and mini-refrigerator underneath.
The Hilton Garden Inn is quiet since it is off the mainroad but still in downtown Apopka.
Next to the reception desk is an area that displays snack items, candy bars, microwavable foods, cold beers, bottles of wines, sodas, and waters.
Be aware that some of these items are ridiculously overpriced. A friend paid $11.50 for two candy bars. Perhaps this is why no prices are displayed so as not to scare off potential customers.
Overall the place is very clean and all the employees are efficient and polite.
