Golden China Restaurant — Restaurant in Appomattox

Golden China is OK they aren't terrible. Their problem is service. I live in Lynchburg and often visit Appomattox. I've found myself here a few times. The manager/owner "bill" is dishonest and tells lies about even small things. Example I asked him how long the vegetable Lo Mein was sitting out (you could look and tell it was out for at least an hour. It wasn't even hot) his response... "Just made"! Sure buddy. "Bill" is also awkward as are most of the employees.

Some people have been talking about a famous white guy whom was born in China who visited here sept. 16, 2016. That's why im writing my review in the first place because I heard this. This famous guy walked out feeling very uncomfortable. "Bill" tried to invite him to dinner at a Japanese restaurant and this guy just told him "I don't want to, thanks". Haha completely dissed him.

If you want OK Chinese, come here to Golden China. If you want better chinese, you are best to take a little drive to Lynchburg or a longer drive somewhere else because this place is strictly mediocre....

This place isn't bad at all. The best items imo are the egg fried rice, pepper steak, beef and broccoli, Mongolian beef, and usually the chicken on a stick. The service isn't the greatest though. The wife who is usually very nice, is the best there. I wish they'd put some money into remodeling it though to brighten it up for people who dine in. I can promise you it'd spike business some because the more welcoming a business the more likely people will eat there. To the people that complain about "false advertising" no it's not because they in fact used to have one but COVID shut that down. I know because I talked to the woman who also runs the place. I've lived here for well over 5 years and can attest to that. There are things they could work on like the service and looks inside of the building but otherwise it's not a bad place if you're in town and don't want to drive far out to Farmville...

The sign in the building says Golden China Buffet. But there is no buffet. When I nicely asked the owner “Bill” why they have a buffet in the name and no buffet. He cussed me out and told me to shut up that it’s none of my business.

It’s false advertising. It’s the bait and switch tactic. It draws allot of people on who are looking for buffet. Who then end up ordering food anyways since they are already there.

There are much better Chinese food places on Farmville and Lynchburg. And Rustburg. As hateful and disrespectful as Bill was. I will never give them my...
