Got here after a 10 hour drive hoping for some good comfort food. Instead it was one of the more bizarre eating experiences I've ever had. First we come in & the front room is packed. Nobody greeted us, so I assumed it was seat yourself & we saw the second room to sit in. The waitress seemed miffed that we had sat in her section and waited a good long while before bringing us menus & getting drinks. We ordered the Friday night special, a steak & the enchiladas, hoping it would be fast since we had two tired wiggly kids with us. HA. That was the longest wait for food I've ever experienced. Another group of patrons came in & sat and they got their food before we did. The waitress continued to treat us like a huge inconvenience, though she would talk nicely to the kids. Finally our food came (after a strange encounter with the kid one table over who came up to my son while holding two steak knives). My husband's steak was supposed to be a medium & it was charred on one side. The enchiladas were soupy & I've had microwave dinner ones that were better. I'm not a picky eater, but this was a huge letdown, especially after that kind of wait. I'd like to think that it was just a bad night for the waitress & maybe their cooking was off that day, but it's not really something you want to pay $25 for to give them...

We were on vacation the week of December 13th. My husband and my son and I went there for breakfast and of course everything was really really good. A couple days later we went back for lunch. I was very unhappy. I got grilled fish two little pieces, mashed potatoes with gravy they were instant I was actually hoping for real mashed potatoes, and coleslaw which was in a container and had like a tablespoon Maybe. My son got the grilled fish also same amount, a salad which was good, and also coleslaw that had like a tablespoon or so in it. It's really disappointed me because everything was good before. I had never eaten lunch there before probably not again.

We were staying at Port Aransas but I saw reviews for this restaurant online. I am so glad I found this place. It was so worth the ferry ride and little drive to get there. We had breakfast both times and it was excellent. I can't wait to go back so we can try lunch or supper. All the employees were so nice. They kept coming around to see if we needed anything else. My husband and I were both well pleased. The food was amazing and I'm not really a breakfast person. But I had the pancakes and sausage one day and the Omelette that had everything in it. It was so good. I recommend this place to everybody. Can't wait to...

I travel to Ingleside often to visit my fiancé. And we love to eat at different restaurants. This was my first visit to “the Bakery Cafe” my fiancé said the food was good but hoped the service improved. Well sadly the serviced was “very poor”. We placed our Oder and got our coffee and tea first with no time waiting. This was on a Saturday, smooth flow of customers arriving. We placed our order, realized other people was getting their order before us and arrived after us. We then timed it 10 Minutes to see if our food would cone out. Within the 10 minutes we waited, new customers arrived and placed their order. As we went to the registered to cancel our order and pay for our teas , the people got their breakfast. The Spanish young girl at the register seemed bothered that we cancelled our order but I said , honestly if you were in our shoes, how you like it waiting for you food over 30 minutes while orders got their other. Not Cool At All!! I think maybe they were prejudice, my fiancé is Caucasian and I’m Spanish. Never will I return there again. They had no care in the world that we got bad service. God...

This is a true authentic super delicious southern diner. Prices are on point and the food is excellent 👌🏼. The biscuits and gravy are top notch, the hashbrowns are so good and the bacon 🥓 and sausage are perfect. The eggs were cooked to perfection featuring a robust flavor of heavenly bliss. I highly recommend stopping in and getting a hearty meal before your beach adventure. I promise you and the family will not regret it. Parking can be a pain as there is limited street parking in front of the diner, but it is well worth any kind of wait you may experience. We didn't have to wait long for the record, but if you do it's worth it. This food is cooked to order so it comes out hot and fresh! Don't forget to tip your waitress they bust their rears providing excellent service and quality dining 😎

I seriously don't know what took me so long to finally dine at the Bakery Cafe in Aransas Pass. This place was established in 1929!!! Our waitress was so nice and they seem to have plenty of workers! The place is very well kept! We went old school. We started off with an order of basic nachos...refried beans with melted cheese on top of light crispy corn tortillas and an order of beer battered onion rings!! Both were delicious! The onion rings were full of flavor, light, crunchy and sweet. Mom ordered herself a simple bowl of delicious chili and I ordered a Homemade cheeseburger with fries! Everything met our expectations! Been a long time since I've enjoyed a true original homemade cheeseburger! Slice of apple pie for later!
