Update- tried to go back here and give them another shot. But tonight was just not a good experience. The waitress was in a bad mood and it was obvious that she didn't like people. She was pushy and when I would ask for things she would never be kind in her response or say you're welcome. And just kept getting an attitude with me and my family. Waitress was older, shorter dark hair with an obvious bad attitude. I advise management to have a conversation with her to ensure that she is treating others as she would want to be treated.
I have been to this restaurant several times and tonight was just not good at all. Our waitress was not the most attentive and thought it was necessary to raise her voice across the whole restaurant to other coworkers about things that needed to be done. She barely checked on us the whole time that we were there which was almost an hour. The food was not fresh at all and was very bland. I believe the salt shaker missed the food and hit the ground instead. As much as they charge it is just very disappointing because I was expecting much better than what I received. I will not be returning here for a very long long time if ever at all again. I will say of the 15 to 20 people only one of them made us feel welcomed, and that was the sweet older lady who was cleaning the tables and doing majority of the work, which is no...
Read morePioneer is pretty great. It's pretty much the equivalent to a Sizzler in pioneer times. Buffet options are very "homestyle meal at grandma's" in the best possible way: comprehensive salad bar, lots of entree meat options (prime rib, ham, chicken, etc.), homestyle sides (mashed potatoes, gravies, mac & cheese, rice, cooked veggies, etc.), & some other options for diversity &/or pickier eaters like noodles and sauce.
The 1 star deduction is due to the many restrictions throughout the menu and buffet. Some choices come with a drink but no refills, some options come with a single trip to the buffet, some options with a buffet only include parts of the buffet, some parts or the buffet are limited to servings allowed. This aspect makes the dining experience more of a thought process than I'm generally used to. I understand the purpose of this is to reduce waste for the company from over servings that tend to naturally come with the buffet territory and helps keep our costs as diners down, just a consideration I've noticed.
We've now been 2 or 3 times and have no reason to not dine there again. Good food, good service,...
Read moreI stopped in to try this restaurant. I wanted the buffet but it was $13.50 per person and that doesn't include the drink. So I didn't get the buffet. Their specials are reasonably priced but everything else seemed expensive. I ordered the petite sirloin steak special. The steak was good but my potato had slivers of metal in it because they cut through the tin foil. I showed the waitress the metal in my food and she grabbed the potato and walked off while I was trying to talk to her. I told her to tell them in the kitchen not to cut through the potato. However, unbelievably, she brought me another potato where they had cut through the metal. When I pointed it out to her a second time, she got mad and quickly grabbed up the potato again and walked off again while I was talking to her. This time she was talking over me saying "yeah yeah yeah." I can't believe that they would continue to cut through tin foil and leave slivers of metal in people's food after I just pointed out to them that it leaves slivers of metal in the food. They have no real butter. They have no Wi-Fi. Waitress was...
