My rating is only on service as I unfortunately never got food. Iâm visiting the area and called Cabo Grill to order three shrimp tacos. I was very specific about my order. Once I placed my order, I was quoted a price a lot cheaper than I expected. I asked the lady on the phone if this was the price of three shrimp tacos because the price was A lot more on the menu. She asked me to hold on, spoke to someone then came back and confirmed the price. Once the order was placed I jumped in my car to take the 10 minute drive over to the restaurant. A couple lights away I get a call back from the restaurant and someone asked me what is it that I ordered. I was really confused, but I gave my order again. The lady thanked me and said goodbye. I quickly asked what was going on before she could hang up. She told me the original call taker didnât understand what I was trying to order. I was really confused by that as it seemed like we had a very thorough conversation. I asked for the price of my food, and the new price more than doubled. It was actually the price I originally expected. I was now only 1 light away, and I told the lady on the phone âjust to let you know, the first person who took my order, not only confused my order, but misspoke and quoted me, a lesser amount as wellâ. The very next words out of her mouth was, âwell do you still want it or not?â VERY rudely. I was shocked because I wasnât complaining at all. I just wanted her to know that not only did the original call taker get my order wrong but she also hugely missed quoted me (As a business owner, I wouldâve loved to know this information to help my staff a little better).. I responded and said maâam, I have no issue with the price, but I do have an issue with how youâre speaking to me so I no longer want the food. By now, I was pulling up in front of the restaurant and there were only three people eating inside. So whether their food is good or not, bad service will still...
Read moreI'm personally a big Mexican fan, and have started going to a lot more Mexican restaurants in the last year. Ate in over the weekend with a friend, (I had their take out in the past, which was quite frankly cold and gross. But I had never eaten in, and thought it might be a better experience.) Yet I was disappointed.
First off, this is one of the only Mexican restaurants in Archdale, which sucks considering the fact that Cabo is extremely mediocre. If you're a drinker, you'll like their selection. However, I'm not so I'll focus on the food. I ordered Texan Fijitas, and while the portions are huge the food taste quite bland. It feels like the food is churned out without any real love, and I didn't really care about taking anything home that was leftover.
As for the vibe/service/prices. Do not be tricked by the outside appearance of the restaurant, it looks like a BBQ joint inside. The service was fine, and the waiters were nice. But I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant that doesn't have napkins, and won't bring them when asked. All and all the place seems a little gross. To top it off, Cabo Grill is extremely over priced!!! The bill for three people to eat was over $60. I understand the current economic climate, however, I felt the price didn't match what was served.
I wouldn't recommend Cabo Grill to anyone, unless you are desperate for Mexican. There are way better options...
Read moreAfter drinks were ordered, we needed an extra minute to review the menu. Drinks were delivered, my glass was cracked. Had to flag down the server to ordee our meal.
My friend ordered tacos, apparently they're not described as sift tacos, she expected crunchy tacos, but they were served more like folded instead of rolled burritos, covered in sauce. Mine was an uneventful burrito with not much steak meat. We never saw our, or any server, after that.
I went to the bar to get our bills, the lady behind the bar seemed annoyed that she had to print the bills. I took thrm back to our table, but we quickly realized we had to go back to the bar to pay.
The same lady was stocking beer bottles, but didnt ever look up. I tried to get her attention, saying something like, "We decided to come to the bar to pay..."... she sort of looked up, enough to know that we were there, but seemed really annoyed. She finally ran our cards, and we left. I dont know if words were even exchanged.
My friend and I were in a good mood, and certainly not rude or wildy chatty, so pretty much no chance we were being annoying. My friend is one of my sweetest neighbors...
Lunch just not a...
