I ordered delivery, and this is my first and apparently last experience. The food was all good and it was packaged for travel very well. My issue is that my biscuits and gravy didn't come with enough gravy for even one of my biscuits, and I had 3. The pictures of the biscuits and gravy show so much gravy, it appears you may end with extra. This is what I expected to receive when my order arrived. The gravy was not poured on the biscuits so as to protect them from getting soggy during travel, which I appreciate. However, I got 3 biscuits, and those biscuits are about 2.5-3 inches in diameter and about 1.5-2 inches thick. I was given about half a pint of gravy to cover all 3 of these massive biscuits. It was barely enough to cover one. Though I have no complaints about the food quality or anything like that, I find it hard to want to go into this establishment in person. Everything seemed to be so well planned, prepared, and packaged for a wonderful to-go experience. Yet, it almost felt like the gravy was an afterthought to the "biscuits and gravy" order. I called to find out if it is normal practice to provide insufficient gravy to even call a dish "biscuits and gravy", or if perhaps a mistake was made during my order prep. The response I received was pretty shocking and solidified my resolve to never again order from this company. I was told after the sweet girl on the phone went to speak with her boss, "the scoop used according to corporate rules is the same if you order delivery/to-go as when you come in person." While the scoop used may be the same, the quantity is not the same, as the pictures customers and the company are posting showing the amount of gravy provided is clearly more than the half pint scoop I received to cover my 3 biscuits. I originally planned to give a higher star review, but after the answer I received during my phone call, I had to revise my review. Clearly, management is not interested in making things right or even offering an apology for the appearance of false...
Read moreThis pains me to post, but I believe it's important for patrons to understand how poor management can harm both a restaurant's reputation and continued success.
I recently visited Biscuit's Cafe in Queen Creek, Arizona on January 3rd, 2023. Previous visits were consistently great and I have had no complaints regarding those experiences, but this last was disconcerting. I took my two young granddaughters there for breakfast during their Christmas break and we were all looking forward to another great meal. I was a bit surprised by how few customers were in the restaurant when we walked in, but didn't think that much of it. It was unseasonably cold outside that morning and I was looking forward to the warmth of dining inside.
I wasn't, however, prepared for the temperature inside to be just slightly above what it was outdoors, which was in the low to mid-forties! I asked the server (who was very pleasant and apologetic!) why it was so cold inside and she explained that no member of the staff had a key to the locked enclosure housing the thermostat. She mentioned they were considering calling someone to bring a key down there, but evidently that notion was not acted upon.
My young granddaughters were okay with staying, as they truly love the food there, but when our food arrived it didn't stay warm long. Imagine trying to enjoy your hot food inside of a refrigerator... Needless to say, we were soon eating cold eggs, bacon, and waffles.
The food was tasty, but disappointingly cold. The staff was very pleasant and attentive, but working under constraints of what I consider to be poor management. Asking customers to endure conditions where most of them were bundled in jackets while trying to enjoy a meal is unacceptable.
I truly hope a member of the management team reads this and acts accordingly. At some point, I would like to have a good dining...
Read moreOur server was fantastic! He was kind, attentive, and let us stay for as long as we wanted. He deserves a raise. I got the eggs Benedict while my friends got the chorizo omelet, pancakes, and biscuits. The eggs Benedict came out cold. The eggs were cooked nicely. The hollandaise was fine but nothing to write home about. Excellent sized portion of avocado!!! My biggest gripe was the English muffins. They weren't toasted. They also had a wet slice of tomato on top of their unbuttered selves. So, they sat soggy and sad at the bottom of the pile. They were chewy and not in a good way. I got red potatoes. They tasted like they were cooked in reused or old oil. Maybe they weren't but whatever oil they use gives it a funky flavor. I didn't like it. The pancakes taste like vanilla cake. Like... cake mix cake. They are very soft but have none of the diner crisp or buttery goodness of a good pancake. The syrup is, well, plain old maple flavored corn syrup. It's not my thing. The biscuits are super thick, super soft, and very dry? Not dry like there isn't enough liquid in the recipe but dry as in you'd better have a good dollop of jam or gravy to help you choke it down. They remind me of bisquick. The omelets were made separate from their filling. Which is a choice. The fillings I tried were kind of bland and salty. But I'm not a fan of omelets in general so don't let me cloud your judgement. Honestly, my favorite part was the stack of whipped cream on top of my hot cocoa! I think I'll stick to making my breakfasts at home. Oh! And word to the wise do NOT get the sausage patties. They are heinous and would be better suited as doggie treats. No offense to anyone that likes them but the links are much,...
