I made a mobile order from across the street from Jack. It took no more than 5 minutes to get on the drive thru line, and around 10 minutes wait until I pulled up to the window. I received my food cold.
I immediately went inside to have the order cooked to order. The CSR just wanted to argue, first telling me that the order was waiting 45 minutes for me, then when he saw it was only ordered 17 minutes prior, he said it was made 10 minutes beforehand. Dude made a Freudian Slip about the food, so it was cooked 45 minutes prior, but only bagged in the last 10 minutes. No wonder it was cold. The manager stepped in to take over and said they would redo the order, although appearing hesitant to do so.
The argumentative CSR redid the order, and at first he placed the redo on the counter, minus one value meal. When I pointed out that he missed an item, he was pretty sarcastic about it. He seemed to really want me to take home cold food. When he disappeared to the back again, the manager walked up and asked if I wanted any of the cold food, as they were gonna toss it in the trash. I mentioned just the burgers as the fried items were a waste. He agreed. But then he walks off as the weird CSR comes along to place down the last item from my order. Then that guy pulls back the older order telling me that he’s going to throw away the entire order. I told him that’s not how this works as I pulled the bag away from him and fished out the two burgers. Then I told him that those were for my inconvenience, as I lectured him about how I’m not sure who’s in charge, him or the manager, and how he will never make it to management with his attitude and how argumentative he is. He basically told me that I was wrong about that.
Perhaps so. Because this incident was the third strike for them, as the last two times I ordered there in the last two years, I also either received cold food or missing items. And way back in 2005, a manager for Jack in Glendale Az cursed me out at the drive thru because she had a bad day, and I asked her nicely to not take it out on me. She then stole my money and refused to give me my food. I had to report it as theft to my bank, and when I cashed corporate, they were less than helpful, and chose to retain their failing DEI hire for a different DEI qualified and successful hire. I have never been cursed out by a manager before, or since. Only at Jack in the Box.
When I got home, I discovered that the sarcastic CSR (Marcos was his name) still packaged cold food, obviously out of spite. Jack’s claims that all of their food is cooked only when you arrive is clearly false advertisement. One fry was full, yet not even warm. The other wasn’t filled, with only 4 or 5 withered up fries in the sleeve. Someone tossed in a sleeve of mini chimis that wasn’t ordered, but they were the only hot item. The burgers weren’t warm, but were acceptable. However the tacos were the worst. It takes at least 20-30 minutes for the oil inside the taco to saturate throughout the corn shell. These were so saturated, they were tearing apart easily, and could not hold its form, because the oil made them soggy. It was obviously that Marcos took some already made tacos that were sitting out for quite some time, and threw them into the fryer for a second frying. Lastly, when my son took a sip from his soda, it was flat. I then realized that they didn’t redo our drinks.
Since most of the food wasn’t edible to enjoy, I called my bank to contest the charge. I also reported it to customer service, although I have no plans to eat there again for the remainder of my life. When I called to let them know as I'm feeding 9 kids and 2 adults that I'm missing 6 of the jumbo jacks , I get put on hold , finally a female lead employee named Angel comes on and all but called me a liar saying she helped bag my order and she knows they were put in the bag , I reassure her as im handing out food to the several kids that they are in fact not in my bag , I'm asked if I can bring the food back , I said sure I can load up food that's being eaten and bring it back . She says nevermind and they will just remake the food ..my issue wouldn't have been paying 15 for 6 jumbo jacks considering they are 2 for 5 ... My issue is being called I liar . So I'll be calling Leti in the morning whom I was told is the manager . I don't want anything for free and I'm aware people do this type of stuff but that's why there's cameras at fast food places to keep people honest . I'm sure there's cameras in the back where they bag food .. I also understand that mistakes happen and people get given other people's orders all the time . However maybe while I was on hold the camera should of been watched instead of angel telling me she knows they were put in my bag. Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Jack in the Box during a late-night craving, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations!
First off, the tiny tacos were a standout. They arrived hot and cooked to perfection, delivering that satisfying crunch with every bite. It’s hard to find a quick snack that hits the spot, but these did just that!
The late-night hours make Jack in the Box an amazing option for those midnight munchies. It’s great to know that you can count on them to deliver quality food even at odd hours.
What really impressed me was the attention to detail with my custom order. It was prepared exactly as I requested, showing that the staff takes pride in their work and cares about the customer experience.
Lastly, I have to mention the friendly service. I visited around 1 AM, and the staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. It’s rare to find such warmth and enthusiasm during late-night shifts, and it made my experience all the more enjoyable.
