Bobo China — Restaurant in Arizona

Wow! This is sooooooooooo BAD!!!!!! I’m not even too picky with Chinese food and this is by far the very worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. I actually thought I was calling “China Chef” on combs rd which is the place I went to a week ago for the first time and it was AMAZING!!! So so so so good and memorable and cravable! I was so impressed!

I’m tired and didn’t even realize. I figured I’ll try another place. OMG! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I try not to give bad reviews unless I truly feel it’s important for people to know, but I know good Chinese food and this IS NOT IT! Bought chicken & broccoli with fried rice and the fried rice wasn’t pork fried rice so it was just cheesy white rice “browned”, which is not at all what i meant. The dinner combo came with an egg roll that was horrific! Not only was it almost burnt and all puffed out weirdly, but it tasted like ASS!!!! It was like almost a sweet yet gross taste and I opened it up and it had nothing in it but the nasty cabbage mixture. The chicken was gross, the sauce had no taste and was too thick and the broccoli was mushy and the sauce seemed to be like stuck to it. This is by far the very worst Chinese food experience I’ve had in my life. I’m from NY and I know good food. I was having a bad day and wanted to end the night with a yummy treat and wow no such luck!

The wonton soup is just as bad. No taste and the wontons were all dough and the meat mixture was almost non existent and tasted bad. I only just now read reviews because I said there’s no way this place has good reviews, and to my surprise it did but I do believe the good ones were from over a year ago, and the most recent one was a bad one where they mentioning getting food poisoning and i swear I believe them and I’m sure they did get sick from this food. I already am not feeling great after eating it.

I’m so upset that this happened and that I just literally wasted $13! And you can’t call and complain because that will Go nowhere I’m sure of it. Don’t even attempt to try this!!! They must be under new management or something must have went wrong in the last year because this is borderline not edible!

They were nice on the phone and when I walked in but that’s the only positive thing i can say. PROCEED WITH...

UPDATE: OCT 25. Bobo is STILL high on my list for food taste and quality, price, variety. Ordered the Treasures of the Sea Combination Dinner. This is a LARGE portion loaded with shrimp and scallops and fresh veggies. For my sides I had fried rice and wonton soup. Once again, they've nailed the soup. Crystal-clear light broth with pieces of Chinese cabbage. Also ordered the ribs (HUGE & MEATY) and the fried battered shrimp. It was a busy Sunday night and I was told to expect up to an hour wait for delivery but was pleased when the food was delivered in about 30 minutes. One question - what's with the $1 convenience fee? My order total before delivery and tip was over $30 and the convenience fee annoyed me. That said, they did include a complementary egg roll and fried wonton! See my new pics.

Are you kidding me! The wonton soup is a meal in itself! Too many restaurants serve over-cooked wontons falling apart in a dark salty broth with no garnish. Not Bobo! The broth was delicate, light and seasoned perfectly. The wontons were fresh and firm. This soup was loaded with a lot of wontons and also chicken, shrimp and bok choy. You have to try this. And my entree was the scallops with veggies. I'm talking LARGE fresh scallops, perfectly cooked. Lastly, the chicken lettuce wraps were spot on. The lettuce was chilled and crispy and the diced chicken was very savory. Pricing...

Online order was placed after calling and asking what was in the wonton soup (veggies, etc.) so we were told wontons and green onions... that was NOT what was in the wonton soup I received. It contained cabbage, shrimp, chicken on top of the wonton and onions. Uh, that wasn't what I wanted but okay. I did NOT receive the chicken kabobs I ordered either. The wonton soup, and all of its fixings, did NOT have flavor to it. I had to add my own spices to make it manageable (didn't help). When I called about my missing kabobs, the lady insisted the girl that just left took the order and forgot them... it was an internet order. She then tried to say she'd just put it on an account for my next visit. No. I paid for something I didn't get. It was a bit of a back and forth trying to get a refund for missing food. I felt bad for the girl that delivered my food. Super nice, very polite and her boss throws her under the bus for something she didn't do. If you're going to try and throw your employees under the bus like that, I will not be visiting or having food delivered from here again. I was NOT pleased with my order, food missing, not receiving what I called to verity before ordering...
