As someone who hasn't had a ton of Greek food, I may not be an expert, but I can share my experience and thoughts on Greek Island Grill. While I believe it is good, I want to be cautious about giving it a high rating without further exploration, as there is always a chance it may not meet everyone's expectations.
I have visited Greek Island Grill twice, and one aspect that stood out to me was the slightly higher price compared to other restaurants. While this may be a consideration for some, it's important to weigh it against the overall dining experience.
The service at Greek Island Grill gave me the impression of being an American on a Greek island, bothering a local for food. Although the staff was not rude, there is definitely room for improvement in terms of customer service. It would be great to see them enhance their interactions with customers to create a more welcoming and enjoyable experience.
On the positive side, the food at Greek Island Grill arrived fairly quickly, and it was evident that each dish was made to order. The freshness of the ingredients, particularly the pitas, added a delightful touch to the overall dining experience. The flavors had an authentic taste that transported me to Greece, which is always a positive sign when trying out a cuisine from a different culture.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was cool, and despite the constant flow of guests, it managed to maintain cleanliness. This attention to cleanliness is commendable, as it contributes to a pleasant dining environment.
Overall, I would consider going back to Greek Island Grill. However, I am also interested in exploring other Greek restaurants to compare and determine if Greek Island Grill truly deserves a higher rating. By trying out different places, I can gain a better understanding of the Greek food scene and make a more informed judgment.
In conclusion, Greek Island Grill offers a good dining experience with fresh food that captures the essence of Greece. While the price may be slightly higher and the service could use some improvement, the overall atmosphere and taste of the dishes make it a worthwhile visit. However, I am eager to try other Greek restaurants to see if Greek Island Grill truly stands out among its...
Read moreI was really disappointing going here. It is basically the only Greek place that is within a reasonable driving distance to my house so i was really hoping that it would be good. I got the gyro with fries. Let me start with the fries. They were obviously frozen and tasted a little freezer burnt. They were bad, really really bad, the insides were mushy, but even if they had been fried properly I am sure that i still wouldn't have enjoyed frozen deep fried fries, I could go to McDonalds for that. Then the Gyro, when i think of a gyro I think of crispy pieces of meet, fresh vegetables like lettuce tomato, onion. I really love Greek food, and of all the gyros in all the places that i have tried this one rates low. Maybe not the worst, but pretty bad. It was all onions and tomatoes, lots and lots of onions, i thin think that i saw a piece of lettuce in there but i cant be sure, it was either a really white piece of lettuce or a slightly green onion, basically what i am saying is no fresh greens, and no fresh anything. Anyway, then the tazeki sauce, which is my favorite part of the gyro. Normally you see little bits of green in it from the cucumber... I don't think that was tazeki, it didn't taste like it and it was pure white, like sour cream. The only thing that tasted good was the pita bread, I did enjoy that
Ok, so the other good thing was the girl working the cash register, she was really nice and helpful. She came by my table to ask me how i liked everything, i was honest and told her the fries were really awful. She asked me if i would like some more but i knew they would be the same frozen mess so i declined, i finished most of the gyro and just left the fries... I really really hope that this place gets better, it is the only Greek food within a good distance from me and i really like Greek food, I guess that i will just have to continue making it myself until a new place opens up or this place gets better....
Read moreI came in today for lunch to try this place out, ordered a few things and was pretty satisfied with the whole experience. Some things could be improved, and I would come again.
Food: Grilled chicken pita, 5/5 - the best item I ordered, and would recommend a try. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The pita was delicious and soft. The Taziki and other condiments were perfectly portioned for the size of it.
French fries, 5/5 - cooked perfectly, not soggy and had a crunch. Seasoning was also great.
Grape leaves (Doma), 1/5 - I would not recommend this item. The filling (rice and perhaps meat?) were mushy and very unappetizing. The taste almost made me spit out the first bite. The leaves themselves were also extremely oily.
Falafel, 4.5/5 - I recommend this item. The pieces were uniform, golden brown, and has a slight crunch when bitten into (perfect). The inside was also quite tasty, but was ever so slightly dry.
Service: everyone was friendly, and the cashier quickly helped customers when needed. They also brought the food out to us when it was ready.
Atmosphere: the restaurant is very clean, and has a beautiful mural on one of the walls. This restaurant is very inviting, and clearly displays the menu on the wall right as you approach the counter. You can also see some of the kitchen, which I find to be a nice touch to see how the...
