Frozen Penguin — Restaurant in Arizona

It was kind of a joke. We had promised the kids a sweet treat after walking the exhibits at The Boardwalk and therefore were excited for our desert treats to be made at the Frozen Penguin. It was 5:45pm when we arrived. The cookie selection for the fresh cookie sandwiches were sparse to begin with and the ones they did have were left out and quite brittle and dry. The kiddos were all about creating their bowl of ice cream, but when they asked if they could try the ice cream they were given a "look" as if that was unacceptable. Once we finally all had our treats in hand, we were told we would have to leave to eat them as they were closing and we could wonder around outside to find a place to sit. At that point we were mauled by mosquitoes. This was unacceptable knowing that we came here because their location wasn't set to close till 7pm as I had called earlier in the day to verify hours...

Unimpressed. Ordered 3 single scoops for the kids and 3 coffee drinks for the grown ups. The ice cream is generically Dryers so don't get too excited. The kids happily ate so whatever. The coffee guy forgot our coffee order entirely. After waiting 15 minutes and letting the rush die down, we reminded him of our drinks. He started making them but stopped as additional customers came in. At the 25 minute mark, we approached again and the guy says we would have to wait while he rings up the line of customers. What? We were rung up 25 minutes ago, the kids had finished their ice cream. He produced 2 of 3 drinks and 1 of those was made wrong. When I explained that he got the drink wrong he tried to say he got it right. What?! No. We asked for a refund and left without coffee. He did refund the price of the 3 drinks but conveniently kept the tip I had added before this all went down. We...

I ordered a kids superman (it was a scoop in a cup) and it came out to be a little over $8. I thought this was a bit much. It also wasn't too tasty but the 2 stars really comes down to the brownie hot fudge sundae I ordered. The brownie was thin and crispy, not like a brownie should be. Also, it was about a scoop of ice cream, maybe a bit more and the "hot fudge" was not hot at all. It was a cold fudge and he gave me like one pump. I ended up looking at it and asking if I could have a bit more fudge. He seemed a bit hesitant before saying okay but I was very surprised when I tasted it and the fudge was not hot fudge. It wasn't even the dark color that hot fudge usually has either. It was extremely disappointing. I would not go again and I would not...
