This is probably the worst McDonald's in Hot Springs! From outdated, broken equipment to poor management skills, this store is always out of something! As a former employee of this store I can also tell you about how understaffed this place is, aswell as the reason most of the employees give you bad service!
McDonald's brand slogan is "...to provide quality service, and a smile with every bag..." there is a slight problem with this "service with a smile" ideal when you are making $8.25/hr and only 20 hrs. a week as well as family to feed! To make matters worse you go into a job that is literally designed for teenagers, and get yelled at like your some sort of child yourself, or sent home early (as if you weren't already hurting to make ends meat with 20hrs)
Then there is this thing with Labor Cost, every company has it but I've never seen anyone care about it quite like McDonald's does... Labor being at 19% is good bit let say it jumps up to 21% an hour before the busiest time of the day 5pm-7pm (peak) I'm going to send a grill person home and service person this will allow for the labor to drop back down to 19% but will leave the remaining employees to cover for the loss (Multitasking). An example of this multitasking at McDonald's would be: The employee handing orders out the window would also be taking orders on lane one, bagging up the food, making coffee drinks, taking orders on the front counter, and bagging their food (this scenario has happened to me on multiple occasions).
This makes room for a lot of mistakes.... i've had customers literally throw food in my face! Now what the managers don't really want you to now is that the reason that they care about Labor and Food Cost so much is because the management gets a bonus whenever it's Kept low throughout the year! So they are willing to take money out of your pocket to put money in theirs!
Which brings me to my final point Food Cost. Food cost is exactly what it sounds like the amount of money spent on food vs. the amount of revenue made off the food. At McDonald's everything must be accounted for whether it is sold promoed or wasted it is somehow entered into a system that counts it all. The funny thing is McDonald's has a quality system, everything has a holding time whether or not that holding time is followed is a different story… You could be eating food that has surpassed the holding time by several minutes... this all ties together into food cost by resetting the timer the food gets sold instead of wasted (it is more cost-effective to sell the food then to waste it as wasting it only provides revenue for bulk pricing)!
I apologize for rambling but if you're still with me then I guess the moral of all this is if you want good quality food and fast service then McDonald's at 3101 Albert Pike is not the place you...
Read moreThis is the McDonald’s closest to my house so we go semi-frequently. Besides a select few everyone who works here is rude. I go out of my way to be extra polite to fast food workers and try to thank them and just be as nice as I can. Every. Single. Time. I am met with some rude attitude. I told a man thank you THREE times when he was giving me my drink and bag, all I got in return was a glare. Not sure what their deal is but it’s pretty frustrating considering 75% of the time when I get home my food order is wrong or flat out missing items. Tonight I got McNuggets for a kid. I ordered on the app and selected sweet and sour with the happy meal. I also added an extra sweet and sour, so paid extra for it. At the window I asked the lady if the sweet and sour packets were in the happy meals. She rolled her eyes and said “here I’ll just get you one”. Well, good thing I asked because lo and behold, not a single packet in there besides the one I specifically asked for AND I’m missing two of the 4 cheese burgers I ordered. So now I’ve paid for two burgers and a packet of sauce that I didn’t receive. Usually I’m not this petty but honestly if you’re going to have a crappy attitude the least you can do is the bare minimum of ensuring all of my food was in the bag. So I’m met with attitude because I asked to ensure I had my items that I paid for and guess what.. I don’t. This place seriously needs new management and a new staff who are actually happy to have a job. I understand it isn’t the best job and people are jerks but I have never been nasty to them even though they have screwed me out of food, aka my hard earned money, on multiple occasions but if I dare speak up or call them, I’ll be labeled a Karen. Cheap food or not, doesn’t matter. It’s...

They do offer alternative menu items but the only real concern they show for our health news by serving apples to the children in the kids meals instead of french fries which is a nice touch if you have kids so even though healthy items for adults are offered they are not that much more healthy then the regular menu items. Let's face it, McDonald's has been around for a lot of years and they now employ a test kitchen full of trains culinary chefs to come up with and test new menu items on the public and they had some success here with their specially crafted Burger items. I recently had a limited time only crafted Burger designed to take you back to the old days McDonald's when the burgers about 6 inches in diameter on a triple-decker bum and slathered with there signature secret sauce. I thought the taste of a very excellent and he's good throwback menu item but I was quickly reminded why I didn't like the Burger originally either. Tasty but they need a stronger bun because the extra amount of secret sauce is on this road mixed with the meat cause a chain reaction that by the end of the first half of your burger your price we eating out of your hand because the sauce has caused the bottom bun to deteriorate other than that matter design for all a good meal taste wise but my medical...
