Cotton Patch Cafe — Restaurant in Arlington

This is an easy, go-to place for me, but the past few times I’ve been have been very lack-luster and somewhat disappointing. We used to frequent this location because of great service and food. Over the past several months there has been a change somewhere and it is definitely reflected in the service and food quality. The service is not very friendly and is just kind of there, nothing outstanding either good or bad. Every time I order the fried green tomatoes, I make sure to ask for Ranch. They NEVER bring it! I know when I order it that it won’t come until the food is cold. This baffles me every time. The salmon Caesar salad has always been my favorite, but lately the salmon is always way undercooked or burnt. There is no in between. They have started placing the fish directly from stove to salad, which causes the lettuce to wilt and is very unappetizing. The past few times, I have not gotten a correct order and have to flag the waiter/waitress down to try to get the right items. It’s exhausting and my food is usually cold by the time they ha e it mostly correct. It’s just a salad. There has also been a very noticeable smell the past couple of times. I don’t know what or where it is, but it permeates the entire restaurant. It seems like they always have a considerable amount of staff but unfortunately the service is still lacking. On a good note, the bartender is great! They have wonderful drink specials with fun and interesting drink options. I don’t know who the bartender is, but they can make a delicious drink! The beverages never disappoint and they always come out fast! I have always loved this location, so I hope they can figure out the kinks. Arlington Texas Cotton Patch location SERVER: AMANDA 8/15/23 Food was mediocre Lukewarm Strawberry lemonade tasted funny Salad had a weird taste and missing croutons (Cesar salad)

Ordered dessert never got to enjoy it because I was rushed to dessert they tried to give me my dessert with my food which was peach cobbler and ice cream. I told the guy, I don’t want the dessert I just started eating and he took it away. So started to continue to eat then server comes 5 minutes after the other person left the table with the dessert and says you want your dessert? I responded no I am still eating letting her know I wasn’t ready. Then another 10 minutes she comes back with a melted sloppy mess in a bowl with the same peach cobbler and ice cream which was obvious it was not remade and to add insult to injury the young lady tried to play with my intelligence. I told her NO I do not want soggy peach cobbler flooded in melted ice cream. And she never even came to ask me if I was ready for dessert then tried to give me the same dessert that they sat out and left and tried to rush me to get. They were not courteous or apologetic or did anything to try to rectify the situation. Poor communication skills and severely lacking customer service. I am only giving 3 because I love this restaurant. I am obsessed with the funnel cake fries and marshmallow sauce. I order it all the time to be delivered. Today I made a large order for the family because I specifically wanted the funnel cake fries with the sauce. I get my order and that smell just hits me, I open the box, bam funnel cake fries. But wait! Where is the sauce. At that moment I had the deepest resentment towards cotton patch because of this and I thought you know what maybe they forgot, mistakes happen and so I decided to order them again, hoping maybe we can get it right this time. But NO! You did it again. I have had it! YOU CANT EAT THESE FUNNEL CAKE FRIES WITH NO SAUCE! It’s dry, it’s no fun, man! So what do we do now? Sulk and swallow in my anger because the one thing I wanted today, you took from me. I sincerely hope you can make this right and never EVER forget the MARSHMALLOW sauce with the Dang FRIES. OK?
