Upon arrival we entered the side door and the host passed by us without a greeting. We didn’t think nothing of it as we figured she was a server and not the host.
We then placed ourselves by the front door as to alert the host of our arrival ( the individual who past us 2 seconds ago , now standing at the HOST stand. ) no one had entered the establishment since she passed us, nor while we walked towards the door and stood by the front door. We then literally put ourselves in front of the podium and said HI!
With a less than inviting facial expression the host mumbles “Hi, how many?” I understand this might be the young lady’s 1st Job but as many tattoos as she presents I know this is NOT THE CASE. I counted at least 25.
Have in mind she has a very present tattoo that states IM DEAD INSIDE among many others. this interaction I thought was the beginning of a horrible breakfast experience :(
This is the first time visiting the establishment. We drove 35 minutes to visit this small shop to try their menu so our intentions and expectations were being slashed by the seconds.
We answer cautiously to the now standing host “GOOD MORNING, 3 please) my son, husband and I” She then grabs a from a selection of menus at her right and begins to walk towards the dining room with now 5 other tables being served. We follow her as no other direction is given but IMPLIED.
She slams the menus all in one pile on the table and says “SHE WILL BE RIGHT WITH YOU!” No smile or welcome or nothing else.
We cautiously begin to look around and all looks clean and inviting so we cautiously take our seats and browse the menu.
As I distribute the menus I notice the menus are filled with old food (old yolk on the side of one) which I kept that one to myself - to at the very least spare my child and husband from such disgust - I reached into my purse and grab some Baby wipes to give to each. As they give me a puzzled look I begin to wipe my menu (food won’t come off) and we begin to look they at the menu.
Seconds later ….. A happy and well versed on menu items server begins to restore hope as she came to our table and asked for our drink selection. Hope restored (I thought)
After the menu selection my husband decided to proceed to the restroom to wash his hands off the menu side items smeared onto it and within seconds he returns with a frighten but calm expression on his face.
His exact words are “THERES SOMEONE SLEEPING & SNORING IN THE RESTROOM!” now I’m thinking he might be hurt, it could be a customer? Poor guy?!
(The employees at this establishment don’t have a uniform - remember host with the very visible tattoos) at this time he couldn’t tell if it was a guest or employee.
I proceed to the first person I thought was an employee as she was in front of a computer and alerted her of the sleeping beauty in the restroom.
The employee then proceeds to grab a male manager and cautiously walk towards the man’s room and we cautiously look towards the now somewhat possible emergency. We see that an employee was escorted out of the man’s room with a heavy and now alarming look on his face.
Our server makes her second appearance as we were not yet sure onto what we would choose. As I attempt to scream thru the very loud music, the server noticed the discomfort in my face while screaming, she made note of the musics volume.
She immediately said “it very loud I know !” as I was saying the same thing she followed with “I’ll let the manager know to lower the volume a bit.
The bacon was burnt yet in a military guys plate it was food.
My Chicken was more batter than chicken but inside was not raw. 4 -5 pieces weren’t enough for the price.
Overall, I think it was a place I recommend as long as you use the CORRECT DOOR, Bring your own wipes to clean the menu, don’t mind sleeping beauty and don’t mind club music volume. The homestyle pancakes can feed a small family of 4 though. They are enormous!! Ask for reviews and reviews not...
Read moreWell this is my second visit and as I was seated I was reminded of my experience the first time I visited...the hostess seating my party of 4 at a table with only 3 chairs and just walked away leaving me no option but to fetched a chair from a nearby table to accommodate all our guess ...as we all took a menu that the hostess sat on the table they where all dirty with jelly grits eggs and what ever else on them... We all ordered and then the wait began a long wait that is .. the waitress was attentive with keeping drinks refilled while we waited...food arrived and me and my wife who both ordered omelettes was disappointed by the appearance and assembly...the best way I can describe the omelettes was a pancake type or maybe tortilla style cooked egg and the ingredients wrapped in it like a burrito seriously the ingredients where not cooked into the omelette itself... then another issue presented itself as we all started to unwrap our silverware 3 of the 4 sets where dirty without a question still food on them our waitress was attentive to get us more silverware ....well as we begin to eat I discovered kitchen cross contamination ..in my omelette about half way through it had ham throughout the center of this burrito styled omelette that I did not order I don't eat ham I notified the waitress of the issue and she advised me she would notify the manager and have him come speak with me well I guess the manager didn't feel as if this was a big issue and just sent her back with the check showing my omelette would be free this was not a money issue at all that doesn't resolve a issue nor atleast show empathy for the issue at hand...I thought well maybe he's going to stop by and apologize just as the waitress did he walked by my table several time didn't even look my way so I took this as oh he pretty much sent us the check telling us we can go I'm guessing ... so that's exactly what we did we payed our bill the waitress apologized again as we left. The first time I visited I gave them a pass because the establishment was fairly new and swamped they seemed to be overwhelmed that first time ...well this time it was plenty of seating and seem like something that the establishment could comfortably handle but I guess they can't and this is just there style of below mediocre service they provide not...
Read moreWent here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm. There was a 20 minute wait, which isn't bad but also the place wasn't full. Cute place, even though we sat at a booth I did like their choice of design for round tables. Outdoor seating is also available.
The food was below average, sad to say because they seem to have a great looking menu but the execution isn't there. My friend had the buffalo chicken sandwich, looked a bit small but okay, the real issue was the fries. They seemed old... cold & overcooked. We flagged down a staff member & they replaced it for her, it seemed the same. Our waitress had come back, we mentioned the fries again & she too offered to replace it. I had the biscuits & gravy omelette with toast along with a side of hashbrowns added. The hashbrowns weren't worth the extra $4, both the hasbrowns & omelette were room temperature, not warm like I had hoped. The omelette wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special. Toast was toast. I had finished my four triangles of toast, half of my hashbrowns, & a fourth of my omelette by the time my friend's third attempt at fries arrived (much better!), she had also finished her sandwich by then. Trust me, we had time to talk about a lot of things... it's not like we ate our food in haste. The waitress had also mentioned that we weren't the only ones who had an issue with the fries as others had also had similar concerns.
The staff was pleasant, but like I said the service & execution aren't clicking. They didn't seem busy so I am not sure if they were understaffed or maybe some new members that were still learning the ropes. Initially the first table we were to be seated at was dirty, the second one the table top was clean but I ended up wiping crumbs off my seat. While waiting for our food we almost received another table's order. We didn't get silverware for awhile, we realized we didn't have any once we got out food but even after mentioning we needed some it took awhile for us to actually receive it. Our waitress did check on us 2-3 times, her effort was appreciated.
I had high hopes for this place, read the reviews prior but still wanted to give it a chance even after seeing some of the negative feedback. I probably wouldn't go back or recommend...
