Ordered food for a party and they sold our order to other people because we were running late. She told us that we, as a customer, was responsible for calling them and letting them know we are late so they can have our food ready. The unprofessional conversation that ensued here was more than enough for us to not want to go back. They also moved locations, but no sign on the old store front to inform customers. Used to be a regular. But not anymore. I've never been so frustrated by a restaurant. The audacity the lady I spoke to had to tell us to wait another 30 minutes or more if I still want my order was beyond me....then she offered what she had on hand....which was 2 of the 5 orders I had made. She initially told me she sold the order cuz she didn't want the food to get cold, but she was willing to sell me 2 orders of the cold food? Make that make sense. If you wanna order from them make sure you're OK being treated like a child instead of a customer.
UPDATE: You guys can all see from the response from the owner below. They literally are saying it's the customer's responsibility to call and let them know we're running late. Clearly 5 orders of lumpia would be for a party. And I told the lady between 230 and 3pm ..so we get there at 3:45. 45 minutes late....NOT an hour and a half. And the lady NEVER asked for a payment or was I supposed to know how to run your restaurant? LIARS! And the audacity to lie about how she said it will be 25 to 30 minutes to fill the 5 orders of Lumpia. If it was really 10 minutes, we would have ordered cuz it would have been done by the time we reached you. And you need to tell the truth about how she said she had 2 cold orders still sitting there if we wanted just that, after she said she didn't want to sell cold food. Stop lying on here to better your review. Absolutely disgusted at this point.. Definitely letting all my friends and family know in the area now about this. And I see from other recent reviews that service has become poor since moving to the new location. 45 minute wait on food before getting served? Yeah this is now a typical review, so people can read for themselves. You guys used to have great customer service. I don't know if it's new management or new staff for the new place or what, but this is such a disappointment and seriously offensive. The fact that you're the owner and listened to that convo and didn't step in, makes this situation even worse because you agreed with her sentiments....
Read moreMy waitress was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. She knew her menu well and was very attentive to my orders. I've probably been to over a hundred different Filipino restaurants all across the country, and this restaurant by far is at the bottom of the list for me. I first started with the Bistek, and it had an incredibly earthy flavor that was closer to the beef found in traditional Chinese beef and broccoli. The onions were very much undercooked and there was an overwhelming flavor of ginger. I do enjoy Ginger but this was too much and even at a level 1 spice, it was too spicy. Everywhere else where I've had this dish that has been savory and slightly tangy I'm not really sure what this dish was but it wasn't traditional Bistek.
Since the serving was so small of the amount of meat, I decided to order a second dish, this time topsilog. Traditionally this has been a sweet tasting dish that is basically tocino. What I ended up with looked almost identical to my first dish and tasted nothing like I was expecting. Two dishes into disappointments so I decided to wrap up my meal.
For the small amount of actual food that I got, I was very surprised at the bill when it came out to $50 for one person and I wasn't even close to being full. I'm not saying that they should overflow plates with food like they do at many other Filipino restaurants, but the amount of food was underwhelming and it look like somebody ate half the food when they brought out the plate already because there was so little.
I love Filipino food and I want all of them to be successful but this dining experience was unexpectedly disappointing.
The building looks fairly empty for dinner time, and I hope that the owners take this hopefully constructive criticism to heart to help improve their...
Read moreIt’s a nice restaurant, clean and spacious, with a stage that looked to offer live music and karaoke. We were excited to be here since it was the first Filipino restaurant I found in Texas (I'm from the Bay Area), and the first time my friend tried our cuisine. However, the food wasn’t as I expected because I grew up eating foods from different regions: Tagalog or Ilocano, and the menu is based on Pampangan roots: and it is expensive! The server was pleasant and patient, but it took forever for our food to come out. We ordered the lumpia, but they forgot to cook it. Thankfully, we weren’t charged. We ordered sisig, but the first one had hair in it, so we returned it and got a replacement. To my dismay, it was completely different than what I’m used to. It was mostly made of pig ears/face, which I did not see in their photo. It was of a gooey and thick texture and gamey, which was not to my liking because I am used to it being dry and cooked with meat (not ears), fresh onions, and jalapeños with the sauce on the side. So, it wasn’t appealing to our palates. We ordered mixed noodle pancit, mostly made up of bihon versus canton - 95%. It was cold and tasted a little like dishwashing soap. The pork sinigang was mostly broth with barely any vegetables and a decent portion of cubed meat. We barely touched our meal, and when the owner asked us if we wanted to take it to go, I said no and told him why (he asked), but he didn’t bother to offer us something else to make up for the experience. Nor did they comp the sisiq like most...
