I asked if they had pastor burritos and the waitress told me yes but since its the weekend you have to pay $1 extra so I was fine with that, but when my food comes I get 2 tacos that looked like they were from taco bell and had ground beef and when I told her I ordered pastor she argued and told me "no you didn't" and said that the only meat they have is beef and chicken and that pastor can only be in a taco. I've been living in Austin for the last year ordering only in spanish at the restaurants I eat at and I have pastor burritos regularly and they take up an entire large plate. The next thing is that I paid $1.75 for a Dr. Pepper with no refills because it came from a can. I could have gone to the gas station next door and bought a can for 50 cents and drank that instead. Terrible food that I couldn't finish and way over priced with extremely rude service. What happened to "The customer is always right" ?? Never again will I step foot in that place....

We always been a huge fan of the location on Park Row, but they closed. Today i tried this location because I missed the food. I was not disappointed. The food was excellent, and the service was even better. This is not a fancy place to eat, but it's damn delicious and they treat you well. I will definitely return.

Update 04/17/21 Today my family and I went here for lunch. Whereas the food was good, fresh and delicious, I ordered a chicken salad, my wife ordered a taco salad with ground beef, one daughter ordered enchiladas, and the other ordered shrimp cocktail, 3 of us had soft drinks. I was surprised to see a bill for $64.00. Like I said, it was good, but not $64.00 good. After dining at the La Islas for over 21 years, I don’t see myself returning at...

HORRIBLE How this place has 4 stars is beyond me. Got my order wrong twice!!! Bland food. I thought i would getting authentic food here clearly I was mistaken maybe I ordered the wrong kind of enchiladas or maybe they serve different food to Americans. I just wonder how are they even still in busines. the chili con carne that was supposed to be on the enchiladas i had to ask for. It was like canned chili that you put on top of a hot dog. I was amazed! Terrible!!! When I pulled up around dinner time and only saw three cars in the parking lot that should have been my queue then but I know some places have slow days. I ordered to different plates and combined I maybe took three bites off of each plate paid for my food and...

The restaurant could use an upgrade, just out of date and the all red walls wasn't very cute. We arrived at 2:58 and the server did not want to honor the 3pm lunch cut-off. I ordered the Chile Relle with cheese and it was quite delicious. The charro beans were very flavorful. My partner ordered the shrimp cocktail. The oysters did not taste fresh and the octopus was too rubbery. Each beer ordered came with a cold glass with a michelada mix around the rim. They did not have flan available, even though it was on the menu. The restroom has 2 toilets wit a bag over one of them, it was not very appealing.

It is unfortunate because my wife and I were looking forward to coming here cause this is her favorite childhood spot unfortunately, what we received was nothing close to a beautiful childhood memory. The nachos were extremely soggy from the moment they arrived at the table They came with no sides i.e. guacamole, sour cream, just a sad plate of chopped up tomatoes, and jalapeños in the photo here you can see a reputable restaurant versus what I received from this establishment simply unfortunate will not be coming back

Hubby & I haven't been here in probably 10-12 years. Last time we dined here, we left disappointed 😞 The quality of food was not very good at all. So, while we were in Arlington today, we decided to give this place another try. We are so glad we did! My beef enchilada plate was delicious and hubby loved his bistec tacos with charro beans 😋 The chips and salsa were good too 👍 Service was great. Be sure to enjoy a Mexican Coke while you're there 😉
