Iāve been coming for a few years now, Susan has always been friendly and nice and willing to help. Iāve been buying mums and other plants there before. Last year I bought a kumquat tree and have learned you can bring it back for them to maintain it for a year for $100. So thatās what I did this past year. Since Lunar New Year is over, I decided to go ahead and take my kumquat tree back like I did the previous year and all of a sudden the owner started bashing at me. Speaking in Vietnamese why are we taking this tree? I thought we are not doing this service anymore? I said wait a minute I donāt understand whatās going on. She had explain the previous person yelled and caused a commotion because his tree wasnāt up to par and kept well maintained and they have decided to do away with the service. Well maāam, you could have said it in a nicer way. Itās not my fault the man yelled at you and you are taking it out on me. I didnāt do anything to you. Then the daughter defended her mom of course and said this is a business and we donāt have to take anything from you, you know that. I said, well you canāt just a start yelling at customers when I have no idea who she was or what the situation was.
Susan said thatās the owner, I said I donāt care if she is the owner or the president of the United States. You donāt talk and disrespect customers. You want repeat customers right? Thatās how you stay up float with your business? The way I was treated was horrible. I felt so belittled.
Susan then states again we donāt have to take anything we are a business. You understand that right? Maintaining your tree for $100 a year doesnāt seem worth it and will be an up charge. I said I donāt mind the up charge but for you to belittled me thatās another thing.
No you donāt have to do anything because you are a business, but you know what? Business doesnāt run if you donāt have customers. I will take my business now to Doan Nursery. I donāt have to go to this place, but I chose to go to tea garden after all these years because of hospitality. Well that definitely went out the window today. Thanks for making it so easy for me to take MY BUSINESS elsewhere.
On another note, every time I come they are always busy eating right in the office where everyone can see you whether you come in the morning, mid day, afternoon, evening they are always eating lol. They are definitely not shy about that. I guess since you drive the customers away, thereās nothing to...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've passed by many times but never got to go in. I remembered it was by that huge mall of a beauty supply store. It was larger than I would have thought. It was like a botanical garden and greenhouse all rolled into one. I'm an avid nature lover so I honestly didn't wander around looking for help. A few workers did their maintence quietly and respected my presence. The most amazing thing for me was how peaceful everything was with fountains, trees, flowers etc. Butterflies! There was a ton of young/mature citrus trees and lots of edible things I had only saw on cooking shows. The bonsai I saw were magnificent, healthy, and emmited strength. I look forward to going back and getting a red maple and a few other goodies. The woman at the cash register was very nice. I just wanted to leave a review of my experience. It really is a hidden gem. I saw most complain about the expense but I think perhaps theyre used to Home Depot etc. Most of the pieces at Tea Garden are mature and lovingly cared for. If youre buying hanging or potted houseplants, I feel those are about the range of...
