Update: Wow, nice cavalier jerk response from the owner. Sorry if my wordage I guess wasn't clear. Should have said "have been going to Moe's for 3+ years starting when she was my girlfriend (now she's my wife). Jeez. Either way, basically been giving you guys years of chances and your coffee drinks and quality aren't good and you're trying to be something you're not. Glad you're open to improvement /open criticism
I've been to Moe's for years because my girlfriend likes to go study there and meet friends and while I like the layout of the store and the staff are always super nice... Time after time after time I am just repeatedly disappointed by the coffee.
Unless you are getting an irresdescent colored/sugary iced drink, all the actual coffee drinks I've gotten at Moe's flash "we don't know anything about coffee".
Drip coffee is ALWAYS stale, incredibly weak/watery and usually lukewarm. The flavor notes of the coffee also indicate old coffee as well.
The espresso drinks I've gotten are also very under extracted and indicate the baristas don't know how to properly pull shots.
Lastly, the cleanliness of the store behind the counter/serving area is always concerning. Flies are everywhere, piles of dishes and open containers of ingredients in a cluttered disarray.
Moe's has a lot of potential and Arlington needs a decent coffee shop but so far years of being a let down. They put out a high game/genuine cafe culture but everything from the food to the drinks is just...
Read moreI can't believe I am writing this review. I was here twice in about 1 year time. First time the service and food were both great. Yesterday I wanted to try again the "loaded avocado toast" with a coffee. I was charged around $18 and some change. 20 minute later my friend got his sandwich but I did not get mine. When I get to talk to the staff they apologised and said the will work on it asap. another 20 minutes later went to talk to them and they said something happened and it was cancelled somehow but they will make it on the spot. They did, just it was not what I asked and it was my friend sandwich. After talking to the manager she asked me at this point if I want a refund or want to wait for my avocado toast. I said I want a refund and just keep the coffee which was half done anyway. When I asked for my refund receipt she said she cannot give me one for $15 as this was the sandwich BUT she can give one for $3 which was the price of the coffee. Needless to say I was upset as I was paying $18 and get a $3 receipt. She said I was rude by asking the staff to many times for my receipt....well forgive me for asking for a $15 receipt when I ordered a $15 sandwich. Really a shame for such a good place. I looked on my visa statement, I was charged $18, no refund, Thank you. For the girls with the "Cowboy baseball hat": you should lose the attitude young lady, not good for business and definitely not going to help...
Read moreI really want to like this place...It's got great ambiance, is local, has a pretty appealing bakery showcase and your standard coffee menu. However, after what must have been my 10th attempt here, I chose to provide some feedback...I have not enjoyed a coffee that didn't taste incredibly watered down, today was no exception-my husband and I actually tossed them. I can't speak to the service every visit, but on at least two occasions it was really substandard-a barista ignored me as she chatted about dating with her teammate while I stood at the bar waiting for over 5 minutes to make a request for some sugar while my watered down coffee got cold, today the barista yelled at my husband when he asked for water-she literally did not make eye contact and just yelled while he was standing directly in front of her after just picking up our drinks we ordered...I really hope the owner can make some positive adjustments to the coffee and service here, the hipness alone can't sustain it. I've seen this happen to a similar cafe in Everett. I really want this place to make some positive changes and stand the test of time. I do. Also, don't need a lecture on self-help books I need to read up on in response :)...
