Olives Mediterranean Grill (OMG) was the perfect venue for a quiet dinner after the completion of the Dancing Classrooms North Texas, Colors of the Rainbow dance competition at UT Arlington.
This year I had to find a new venue because our previous venue is no longer in business. I was fortunate in finding OMG. I called the day before to confirm that they could accommodate a party of 15-20 at around 8:00 PM on a Wednesday.
When we arrived, a table setting for 20 people had been prepared. Because OMG allows for BYOB I brought several wines for our party to enjoy while getting settled and looking over our menus.
Due to the variety of items ordered I am not going to list them in the review. However, from appetizers to entrees, everyone commented on the quality of the various orders.
Even though a staff member had called in, Lisa and the other server took very good care of our group. Our meals were served in a timely manner, and every dish was steaming hot when served.
The layout of the dining area, combined with the rustic design of the interior made for a welcoming environment.
Considering the size of our party, the staff and chef did a wonderful job in preparing and serving our meals. Even though the restaurant officially closed at 9:00 PM we never felt rushed and were allowed to enjoy our meal, and each other's company over fine food, good wine, and good...
Read moreToday, i decided to stop by this awesome restaurant to just get one of their teas as a take out which I never do for most establishments. The reason is that i just drink water while I am out. Unless we are doing a upgraded refreshment, if u know what I mean. Anyways, since I thought this was too little of an item to just purchase and i love their hummus...i ordered a small hummus to go.
As always, the service is great by the wait staff, food as well as the tea was excellent. However, i was taken aback when the waiter informed me that to get honey with my tea there would be an upcharge. Now, i understand honey is more expensive than drug addict sugar or fake sugar, but isn't that condiment part of doing business?
Again, i not only decided to puchase something else to compensate...so, please help me understand why?!!!??? Wait...i don't as a past food service manager...i paused and understood...that this cost should be factored in, but maybe it wasn't. I can forgive that, but the excessive $1.00 upcharge could not be explained.
Guess I won't be back for just my favorite tea to go even if i just desire its deliciousness of that honey and lime with it. Oh well, only on a sit down meal. Sad heart...
Read moreThis place is so underrated. If you’re on the fence about coming here just go! You will not be disappointed. ☺️
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully put together. The nostalgic instrumental music added charm without being too loud, the temperature was perfect, and the booth seating was both clean and comfortable. We got to choose between a sunny window booth or a shaded one a thoughtful touch. Our server was just a delight! 🦋 Our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable and genuine.
The food was Outstanding!! Compliments to the chef, who is also the owner. You can taste the pride in every bite. My partner’s chicken and my lamb were perfectly cooked. It was tender, juicy, with the right amount of flavor. The salad was crisp and fresh, and the Tzatziki… wow. Creamy, flavorful, and made in-house, like all their sauces. 😋
No complaints at all. We will absolutely be back, and I’ll be bringing friends. This is the kind of place you want...
