I really liked their curry options but their Mughalai biryani isn’t mughalai biryani at all it’s not even a traditional biryani. I have been to India several times and have knowledge about all the biryanis found in the subcontinent but this biryani was Americanized biryani. As y’all can see in the pics that I uploaded below the rice in biryani was overcooked and meat was embedded with tomato texture in taste.
Gangan (owner) was super polite and addressed my issue really well by providing me a replacement on the biryani. Their staff is very energetic and would never take much time to take your order as soon as you arrive.
The theme of the restaurant is pretty amazing and very rare in itself especially the Turkic-Persian styled paintings, ladies in saris and mini arches reminding the peak of Indian civilization during the 15th- early 18th century. The green lighting with a deep wall paint reminds me of the parts of India that I have visited. The true essence of the Punjabi culture could be found pretty well here in most of the options that I have tried.
They have an excellent korma and a really good chicken tikka masala options. Their naan has got a very high quality taste and it gives you an amazing feel when you dip it into the korma.
Honestly after trying them for almost a week now I can rate them as one of the best Ind/Pak restaurants in the Texas and undoubtedly best in Arlington and nearby areas as far as their quality & service goes.
Looking forward to having more options in their menu including the mustard soup with real countryside bread (Sursu saag with...
Read moreTandoor is my one and only go-to Indian restaurant. I have tried others in the past, but similar to the best of lovers, no other can compare. I always return to quench my thirst, feed my hunger, and fulfill my desire for an authentic experience . My outings end with sheer, delightful satisfaction every single time.
This marvelous food establishment is worth the 35-45 minute drive from my location.
I have tried several dishes during their lunch buffet. One really can’t go wrong with any of their delicious menu items.
We regularly order the Kachumber Salad and Vegetable Samosa for appetizers. They are consistently good starter meals.
Our entree’s of Chicken Tikka Masala and/or Beef Mushroom along with their Jasmine Rice are always superb. An order of Garlic Naan compliments our entree’s perfectly.
Lastly, for dessert, the Gulab Jamun completes our meal flawlessly.
Their unlimited refills on hot Chai is quite lovely on cold nights, or their cold Aam Ki Lassi is refreshing on warmer days. They do not offer unlimited refills of their cold Chai, which is a bit absurd.
Their wait staff is highly accommodating, and they provide top-notch timing in service. The only complaint I have is with the cleanliness of their restrooms, as they are hit or miss.
Overall, Tandoor Indian Restaurant is well worth the time, effort and funds to encounter…over and over,...
Read moreI am genuinely surprised to see any bad reviews for Tandoor. This place has the best food and the best service that I have found. They are always so welcoming when we arrive, and they treat us like family! On a couple of occasions we have even lingered past close time for the lunch buffet, and even though we were overly apologetic about it, they didn't mind the least bit. They just made their plates, then sat and ate their food along side us! Wonderful people, and I can't say a bad thing about them. Now, the food on the other hand....... well actually it is just as awesome! Their chicken Tikka Masala is glorious! The best I have ever had (albeit much better for dinner than on the buffet). The Malai Kofta is heavenly. I think they infuse the kofta balls with some kind of addictive substance because I just cannot get enough of them! I have only ever seen it there once, but when they have the chicken salad/cole slaw stuff at the near end of the line, LOAD UP ON IT! I bet I could eat a large plate of that alone! And their rice is amazing. I've tried to duplicate it myself at home, but of course we all know how that goes. I just can't say enough good things about Tandoor. I am a lifer! I...
