My fourth time visiting this restaurant/ bar have been nice. I had a variety of different experiences here. The normally experience here if you come during rush hour, happy hour time frame, is that you'll have to wait. There isn't much seating so generally it will be awhile to sit since people like to enjoy their times here. Once you get seated everything is lovely. The staff is so so. The first time I came here I was not a fan of the waitress, she was not friendly. The other times I had nice waiters and waitress. So it depends on who you get. The prices are a little expensive, but it's a wine bar so what can you expect. The smart thing to do to be affordable is to get a bottle or pitcher of sangria between you and a friend. I also will get a couple "sips" which is 3oz of a wine. Getting sips is a great way to try out different wines for not too much money. Depending on who is serving you they might give you a little more than 3oz. The food is tasty, I tried the sandwiches here and liked them. I like that this bar/ restaurant is in Clarendon as it is a nice change from the typical sports bars. This place has a great cheese selection and wine selection. I would come here to buy a bottle to take home as that is the best bargain here. Bottles are very affordable to take home. I think this place would be better if it were a little bigger. I think there is a lot of potential here. Many of my friends like to come here due to the variety of wine...
Read moreI had never been to a wine bar before. In fact, I felt a little out of place until the friendly staff made me feel welcome. They all seem to love their jobs and they love to teach you about wine. Wine flights are a great way to enjoy and compare several different wines to see what it is you like and don’t like. They have an extensive wine list and a full kitchen with some unusual flavorful offerings.
Sitting at the bar is the most entertaining unless you have a bigger group. For six or more you can reserve one of two tables off to the side of the store which is away from the noise of the bar. (Or outside seating when it’s warmer).
We enjoyed flights of Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc. We had a delicious cheese plate, spicy empanadas, savory Tuscan chicken flatbread, olives, almonds and corn nuts. Our waitress told us about our wines and answered all of our questions. She even brought us free samples of their frozen white wine and strawberry icy drink to try.
This is a great place to hang out, drink wine, eat good food, and converse with friends. It’s also a wine and cheese store, so you can bring home...
Read moreAs someone from Louisiana craving crawfish during the Mardi Gras season, this place did the trick. Is the crawfish the same as it is in Louisiana? Not exactly, but it is definitely yummy. A different style, but for sure not bad. I was very worried about the size, flavor, and quality, but they were a great size and the quality was great. Again, a different flavor profile than what I'm use to, but still great! My husband ordered the crawfish macaroni and cheese. Also so good! The crawfish came out about 10-15 minutes before the macaroni due to a kitchen mistake. Our lovely waitress brought us free beignets because of the inconvenience. The beignets were better than any other beignet I have ever eaten. The beignet/ice cream/strawberry sauce combo was to die for. On top of the delicious food, and amazing service on a very busy night, the drinks were awesome as well! Their wide selection of Abita beers is awesome, and the fish bowls were amazing as well. It really made me feel closer to home and was super comforting! We will definitely be...
