Dave's Diner — Restaurant in Arnold Township

I'm going to start by saying I have frequented former eat rites and now daves diner for years. I know they get busy at times and that's fine but today at one in arnold was just an over all bad experience that I don't think will allow me to frequent it anymore. Me n my girl went in to get late morning breakfast. The place wasn't packed but kinda busy. We knew it was going to be a wait but almost an hour before we got our food. But that wasn't the problem. 1 other person came in 25 minutes after we ordered and another couple bout the same time they also got their food before us. And the waitress was very forgetful. Maybe high on something. I don't know. But when our order finally came out. My biscuit and gravy were cold and the gravy was nasty. Then the toast that was suppose to come out was apparently on its way . Then the waitress brings out one order of toast and plays it off like it's both orders . I said no we still need another oder. 25 minutes go by. I'm done with my meal and she comes back asking if we need anything else. I said yeah the toast from 25 minutes ago. I said don't worry bout it. No point now. She had even forgotten another table that she already took their order sitting behind us. Oh but my gf had her favorite pen sitting on our table and we were making a list and the waitress forgot hers when she was taking the tables order behind us originally so what does she do. Grabs my gf pen on our table and says can I burrow ypur pen I forgot mine. We say sure but after in her greasy hands just puts it back on table and says thanks. Thanks for the greasy pen back. What really kind upset me is the waitress when she came back with no toast at the end and couldn't even remember she told me it was on its way. She protected herself and possible tip by blaming the woman cook in the kitchen saying we'll I told her and she didn't get it in. No it's her fault that she couldn't even remember in the first place and surely could have checked on it sooner herself if she could...

First let me say, this rating is not regarding the Diner as a whole. I love Dave's Diner. The rating is low because of 1 waitress that works there. This would be the 3rd time I have been there in just the last 6 months that this particular waitress has been rude, doesn't take orders well or is very inattentive to the customers. Today is the day I will say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I came in to a fully packed diner (which they usually are and many elferly are always in there eating) to place a to go order. I sat at the bar. The other waitress is always pleasant. But as I am sitting there, I hear the the waitress I am furious at say "watch out behind you, there's someone there"! Then under her breath rather loudly she's says, While you block my door"!. Whoa, The blatant disrespect of this woman who is a waitress and supposed to have customer service. I am furious at the fact that not only would she speak so negatively out loud for others to hear but the lack of respect for our elderly! This is our problem in our world today. No respect and no respect for the elderly. Where is her manners? This IS NOT the job for her to be in. As I said this is the 3rd encounter with her attitude and lack of work ethics. But today crossed the lines. This little elderly couple were walking slow as older people do. However, their money is just as good as anyone else's. I get my food, pay and walk out and there she is sitting on the bench. So I talked to her for a moment. Very nice lady. Breaks my heart to hear and witness such rude, ignorant and actually discriminatory behavior! I did leave my waitress a very nice tip on my take out order. The servers are super rude &unfriendly &we came in before some of the customers did &we ordered food before them &they got their food before us because their regular &regulars get their food before the new customers even if the new customers order their food first &the hamburger meat on my double cheeseburger was tough &dry &I ordered tater tots &they brought me out hashbrowns &insisted to tell me their tater tots &they clearly wasn't tater tots &tater tots &has browns are two different items &they look totally different &they do not look nothing alike &they taste totally different too &their liars&their lazy&our total or our total for each item &the tax amount none of it was on our check so we didn't know what our total was till we went to the register to pay &that's ridiculous &we should have known how much the check was before we went to the register &we will never come back to dave diner ever again this is worse mom &pop restaurant I have ever been to in my life &I hope you all lose business &go out of business &close all you're locations for good &I hope you all lose customers&lose money &I hope you're business goes down hill super quick &this place is a joke &its not worth the...
