Gangnam Kimbob (강남 김밥) — Restaurant in Artesia

I’ve seen this spot all over IG and TikTok, so we’re finally trying it tonight!

Parking: They’re located in a small plaza. Finding a spot is difficult. Highly recommend backing into a spot if you can bc reversing out will be a b—.

Ambiance/Environment: It’s a small space with very limited indoor seating and no outdoor seating. It’s more of a quick service, to-go spot, but we stayed and ate there tho lol.

Service: Shout out to Jay and Sean! They were the only workers. They’re very patient and courteous. There was a small rush, but they’re quick & efficient.

Foods:

1. Takoyaki - These are octopus balls. We ordered these as appetizers. They’re very rich, and the filling was delicious.

2. Yubu: egg with cheese, crab with shrimp, and bulgogi - These were also delicious! The outside did fall apart easily after biting into it, but the filling was good! The bottom part has rice, and it was topped with the filling.

3. Jay Special Kimbob - My favorite! This was deep fried with unagi, cream cheese, and crabmeat. Highly recommend this!

4. Sean Special Kimbob - Perfect for those on a keto diet. This did not have any rice; just protein & veggies.

5. Tonkatsu Kimbob - Pork cutlet with veggies. The pork was crispppyyy!

6. Bibim Kimbob - Spicy mix of veggies and bulgogi. This wasn’t as spicy as I’d thought, but still delicious! I love bulgogi, sooo can’t complain.

Pricing: Definitely worth its price! Not bad for the amount you get. Their Kimbob is FILLED with...

Yay! What a convenient spot to get kimbap. There's so many options here that it did not disappoint. My friend and I decided to try 3 kimbaps - Ssam, House, and Shrimp Tempura. We also wanted to try their Soy Garlic Chicken also. The kimbaps are so huge, they're definitely filling! We ate pretty much most of the chicken and like 1-2 pieces each of the three kimbaps and we were full. Our favorite ones would have to be the House and the Shrimp Tempura one. The Shrimp Tempura has like a mayo type sauce that complements the tempura well. The chicken was also tasty. This spot is great to grab and go. You can buy and have a little picnic nearby, or you can can even eat inside like we did. Food was served pretty quickly. Not meant for big parties - of course. There's free parking in the plaza, however, parking can be difficult in the small plaza as it is shared by...

I went there on September 24th on a Tuesday. The wait was too long. They open at 11am. There was someone who had ordered at 11:11, and she didn't even get her food until 11:53. (she was the second person in line) Needless to say, my order took over 45 minutes as well.

Maybe this was an off day, but I'm not trying to return anytime soon. Especially when they didn't even tell you that it's gonna be a 45-minute wait when they were taking your order. The least they can do is apologize for being slow or give you a heads up when they’re running behind.

It would’ve been nice if you can see behind the glass to see them making your food. But they covered that up.
