Why hello there, Snowflakes! It's hot and I need a frozen treat to cool off.

Snowflakes Exotic Shaved Ice recently opened up in the Sports Authority/Chase Bank shopping center. They offer shaved snow and shaved ice with as many toppings as you can fit into your cup. No refills, though.

The friendly staff guided this newbie through the process - order either shaved snow or shaved ice, what flavor & what size that you want. Wait for p/u and then proceed to create the new Guinness World Record for toppings piled into a cup.

My personal creation - a small shaved milk snow with chocolate chips, green tea mochi, lychee and strawberry bubble poppers. Sweet, cool and fabulous! The milk snow was creamy, the mochi chewy yet not tough. The chocolate chips satisfied this chocoholic and the bubble poppers were fun to eat. The small was good enough for me, since I desire to keep my hourglass figure ;p

Seating is available for people to lounge in while enjoying their sweet treats, with plastic tables and chairs and sofas to chillax in.

Pop music was on blast. Inbetween bites, I busted out a Roger Rabbit or two ;p.

The Hawaiian shave ice was a crowd favorite! Refreshing, delicious, and with so many flavor options, it was the perfect treat for our team. As my boss is from Hawaii, we were especially excited for the authentic twist—and it did not disappoint! The shave ice tasted just like we were back on the islands, and it was clear that they use high-quality ingredients.

Snowflakes is generally known for their shaved ice, but I usually get their acai bowls. The inside of Snowflakes has a warm and well-lit feeling to it. In my experience, the workers have all been friendly and helpful. As for the acai bowls, I feel like I get good value in terms of quantity. The ingredients are fresh as well, so I've been satisfied with my acai bowl experiences here. Snowflakes participates in the FiveStars program, just in case people frequent this place and weren't aware of that.
