We arrived 20 minutes early, following the instructions that advised arriving 15 minutes in advance. Upon our arrival, we were informed to wait as the rooms were occupied. This was not a problem, as our appointment was scheduled for 7:20, but we were not called back until 7:35. While the wait was not excessively long, one could argue that appointments are established for a specific purpose.
My wife and I got called back to the arena and were informed that three additional guests would be joining our party. Unaware of this change, we asked if we could cancel our reservation and receive a refund. The staff explained that we could return at a later time, but there was no guarantee of having the venue to ourselves. This was somewhat disappointing, especially given the considerable amount we had paid for our tickets, which were $60 each.
We chose to proceed and optimize the situation at hand. Upon asking about the sanitation of the equipment, we were told that it is disinfected after every round. Nevertheless, I can assure you that the equipment had not been adequately cleaned, as it reeked of body odor and lacked any trace of disinfectant.
The duration of the game was 20 minutes, and while it was enjoyable, it did not justify the financial investment made. Consequently, I do not intend to return. Additionally, we had to make a stop afterward to purchase wipes, as the odor from the mask lingered on our faces. It is astonishing to think that we have emerged from a pandemic only to find ourselves in such a situation regarding disinfection.
The staff demonstrated a disinterest in resolving any issues. This is not surprising, as they looked quite youthful and seemed entirely unconcerned with meeting customer needs. When I indicated that I would document my concerns in a review, they appeared to agree with my decision.
I consider two stars to be a fair assessment, given that we did have fun playing the game, although it was alarmingly brief and rather...
Read moreI recently visited Sandbox VR in Cerritos with three friends for a birthday celebration, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, everything went smoothly. We had made a reservation, which I highly recommend, as it ensured we had no waiting time.
Located conveniently at 454 Los Cerritos Center, right between Macy's and Chipotle, Sandbox VR offers a unique and cutting-edge virtual reality experience. The center features four virtual reality rooms, which provide an intimate and immersive setting for our group. We dove into two different VR experiences, starting with a thrilling zombie-themed adventure. As someone who generally experiences motion sickness with VR, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I felt completely fine throughout the experience. The technology used at Sandbox VR is top-notch, allowing for natural movement of hands and feet, which might have contributed to the comfortable experience.
The second adventure was an alien-themed experience, which was equally exhilarating. Both the zombie and alien scenarios were incredibly realistic, making us feel like we were truly part of those worlds. The graphics, sound effects, and interactivity were impressive, creating an unforgettable VR experience. The staff at Sandbox VR were friendly and helpful, ensuring we had a great time. Their assistance and the easy-to-understand instructions enhanced our experience significantly.
I would highly recommend Sandbox VR in Cerritos for anyone looking for an immersive and exciting VR experience. Whether you're a VR veteran or a first-timer, this place is sure to impress. It's an excellent choice for celebrations or just a fun outing with friends. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying out their other...
Read moreUnfortunately, I had to rate this experience a 2, reason being, I had to practically beg the attendant to give my daughter a vest that wasn't broken. After asking around 3 times for a different vest they switched it. Initially, the attendant told me that the vest would still work even without one of its side fastening straps. I asked 2 more times if they could switch it and she said no. She explained that the other vests were assigned to other rooms. I went on to say that I didn't just finish paying $160 bucks for us to play in broken gear ( 3 of us played, myself and 2 adult daughters). It was at that point that she went to switch it out. VR is pretty intense, there's a lot of bending and moving around so I'm so glad that we ended up having it switched cause it would have been so uncomfortable to play in. On top of that, the experience was paused 3 times right in the middle of the action. Once because a sensor fell off and the other 2 times because the gear was glitching to the point that the actual headset went black. To make matters worse, all of the gear was stinky as if it wasn't sanitized. If you've ever experienced the zombie takeover then you know that you sweat a whole lot. Our gear was definitely damp when we took it off. Only one of the attendants wiped some of the gear when I asked if they cleaned the gear after the experience. The other attendant just put them right back on the wall ( highly unsanitary, so gross). And never once did anyone apologize for any of the stuff I just mentioned. Overall, the experience itself is worth trying out. It was fun and pretty realistic, but don't go to the location in the...
